Anybody have serious issues with this draft?

I’m feeling pretty content with this draft. We didn’t do anything crazy, didn’t trade crazy future assets, and took what was given to us.
We filled several holes in the roster with guys that can compete as soon as they come in to camp

Seems like a solid effort.

We got good players at positions of need ... what's not to like?

Every player drafted has a chance to make the final roster or practice squad. Can’t say that every year.

The biggest red flags were addressed in the first 2 picks.
We didn't give up next year's 1st
We shot for depth with low ceiling high floors mid draft.
We shot for potential late.
That's best situation by far

A- grade for me. Like my rating matters anyway but I think we did good.

Not a bad draft. Thank God no other teams wanted to trade all of our draft picks for their 1st round pick that was only 3 ahead of us.

There were some names I had in mind that we should go after but I'm happy with the new crop of Saints.

Can’t complain. They saw their biggest needs and answered them. Our DL just went from terrible to having the chance to be a terror for opposing offenses. On pass downs you can kick Cam inside with Breese and then have Granderson and Foskey at DE.

4 players we got were in Dane Bruglers top 100
Bryan Bresee (23)
Isaiah Foskey (60)
Nick Salvideri (96)
A.T. Perry (98)

I think people will find those four are in almost all top 100

I don’t pretend to be smarter than an nfl team, I’m just a fan, so I give that up front
But it feels like a lot of the players we took would have been there for a while if we took them. I know the media isn’t always right but some of this stuff was consensus across the board so it’s kinda hard to stomach
I like the guys though if you take the draft spots out of it though
One other thought… feels like all of the guys besides Bresee have to learn a lot to even make a notable impact. So this feels like a future investment draft but not really a 2023 impact draft.

overall, i thought they did a great job early and late, but the middle is a little questionable...
but overall, good job not wasting future assets, and addressing main areas of need

I am not a fan of THIS franchise picking a player with such a big injury history so early. I don't understand the QB flyer but seems like any QB pick is a crapshoot.
Honestly, I am not sure I can get excited by a DA led team as I don't think the team can get excited by a DA led team.

Only if you look at it from the media’s perspective focusing on the Saints. Players “fall” because teams want their guy and don’t rely upon rankings from Kiper, PFF, CBS sports, etc. that we look at for weeks.
Not that you’re wrong for looking at it from that perspective, we all do. But we have no idea who will get picked, who will fall, what kind of deals teams are and aren’t willing to make and how well a team knows and wants a player. We make it way more complicated than it is. Don’t treat it like supermarket sweep or something; if you want a player, get the player.

We filled our needs without having to reach for project players. I like it

I like a couple of the late picks. But I think we screwed up not picking
Branch in the 2nd,
One of the TN receivers in the 3rd notably Tilman
And Antonio Johnson instead of the Minny guy.

Saints have depth in areas we needed.
