May be the first time in the Payton era we don't keep one.

For the sake of this board, I hope Dural does. Tired of hearing about it.

I agree with you but from what has been reported so far from camp I don't see any way he makes it honestly

Thomas
Snead
Coleman
Ginn

All pretty much locked in on the roster. Leaves one spot and there are like three or four guys who are ahead of Dural in the pecking order.

There's a chance we could try to stash him on the PS but he'd probably get scooped by another curious team and then eventually cut.

Agree that just about the only one with a shot is Maulet.

Even last year we had quite a few: Crawley, Harris, Turner, Lutz, Lewis, Lampman...

The UDFA DL class from two years ago really didn't work out. I remember debating if these guys were any good or if we were just that bad on the DL. History has proven out that we just sucked. Remember these guys?

Lawrence Virgil
Ashaad Mabry
Kaleb Eulls
Bobby Richardson
Tavaris Barnes

Only one still around is Mabry and he's not making it.

I have a feeling last year's UDFA OL crop is going to be similar. Ladon Turner, Jack Allen, Avery Young all stuck around but I have a feeling Allen and Turner get cut this year.

I say Maulet too, but I heard he left the last practice injured so I don't know.

Only way Dural makes it would be special teams / returner, too may WRs ahead of him on the depth chart, but stranger things have happened.

i like pulling for the udfa guys, but truthfully, not having one make the team is a good sign that we are deeper at each position so im okay with it.

I can see Darius Victor making the team over Lasco and Cadet.

Cadet isn't making it imo.

But what's with the Victor hype? Dude has one good run in practice and he's all of a sudden jumping Lasco, a draft pick, ST standout, and a guy who was on the roster a year ago?

Talk about unwarranted hype.

They're gonna like Victor but it's a numbers thing. PS maybe

Same with Maulet. Write it out and tell me who you keep him over. PS

Loewen might have a chance tho I don't think he's a rookie is he?

They had to take more UDFA last year due the embarrassingly bad cap situation (specifically almost 50% of the cap tied up in dead money contracts). This year they can afford to keep more experienced vets and not rely on UDFAs to fill out the roster, which should mean a more competitive PS. No way Grayson sticks around, which rounds out another bad draft.

Not going to make the roster, practice squad more than likely unless there is an injury.

I can actually see Lampman making the team over Dural. Lampman is excellent on ST. Dural will really have to show out to take it IMHO

I can see him making it over Harris and Swann. While Harris has made a few plays in camp so far he was not in good graces with the coaching staff for part of the seaons last year. I mean BW Webb was playing over him. If they feel Maulet is further along then Harris was at this time last year I can see him jumping him. Then with the injury history of Swann do you give Maulet a chance over an often injured player? Of course a lot of that has to depend on how they all look in the preseason.
I do think he has the best chance of any rookie UDFA to make the roster

Breaux
PJ
Moore
Lattimore
Crawley
Maulet
Swann

Keep Moore if we put Maulet on IR. I really don't think we'd be able to get him on PS.

Same with Victor. Hope he makes roster. Not sure Lasco will ever be a legitimate running threat.

Great Thread!

I just realized that there aren't any standout UDFAs this year except Dural but we know him because of LSU.

I'd hope we find a good RB & get rid of Cadet. I hope Lasco stays on the team.

The thing about Dural is before the hamstring injury I believe he was a draftable, mid round talent. Good straight line speed. If he wasn't 100% last year but can regain some of his burst then I believe he could be sneaky good and kept around atleast on the practice squad. Obviously, I'm an LSU guy but that's just my take on it.

I agree with this, but I was referring to this years udfa class. Seriously though, I keep going back and forth on WR5 between Lampman and Fuller.

Also, brought up in another thread, but worth mentioning here: Adam Bighill LB might have an outside shot depending on his preseason performance
