Angry Saints Fans - Wanna know why?

Why SOME of us are angry. Something has been taken away from me. Something that was a BIG part of my life. I’m extremely disappointed in what has happened to the NFL.
I’ve been a Saints fan since 1967 when Gilliam ran it back against the Rams in Tulane Stadium. And now, the stench of politics has infiltrated a GAME that I really loved and has been something I always looked forward to. I’ve always anticipated each season with optimism, but now, it’s just another part of society that’s in serious decay.
But a political movement (BLM hasn’t been about George Floyd for a LONG time) has poisoned the well. I simply won’t drink from it.
I was hoping to get some relief from the media….a distraction….but it’s just “more of the same old BS”.
Even my favorite player of all times has gotten “woke”. Truth is, Drew Brees made an honorable statement about our flag. Malcom “X” Jenkins ripped him about it. Drew retracted his statement so that he would have a CHANCE of solidifying the team…..even at the expense of his reputation (which has taken a serious hit).
If you think NFL players are discriminated against and aren’t “privileged”, then you’re delusional.
When and IF this GAME returns to what it is SUPPOSED TO BE, I’ll return. It’s just that my dedication to my country exceeds my interest in spoiled little kids who think that they are more important than they are.
And don’t tell me that I should stay away from Saints Board, it’s my right to express my opinion when things that hurt us affect us. You can agree. You can disagree. But this is just MY opinion. Speaking my mind.

The resident communist will be here soon to tell you that you’re not really a true fan, and that you shouldn’t be posting on the SB.

By coming to this board and shitting all over it everyday you and all the others like you take away the enjoyment some of us still get. Since you just admitted you know how that feels like why can't you see why the rest of us just want yall to stop?

No one cares. Either watch the games or don’t, no one is reading all that.

Kneeling never much bothered me. I wouldn't kneel but I still kept watching even with all that going on. I realize the NFL or most players to my knowledge haven't come out in support of the actual BLM organization, and I have no issue with players and coaches being in solidarity to something they feel strongly about.
When the Twitter meltdowns happened on the Brees statement, by his own teammates it just completely made me lose interest. It would be like if I took my kids to go meet the Saints team and they all acted like jerks. I would just no longer care, that's how it felt. Grown men, his teammates, attacking him publicly before even discussing anything with him, quite a few players at that, just did it for me.
I joined TD solely due to Saints Talk, probably 75% of my posts are on this board, so yeah, I still give my opinions. I even tried like hell to get back interested in the Saints but it just hasn't come back, at least yet. The Blake guy's name on the helmets was just too much. They could have found a dozen or 2 other black men killed by police to do that with, or maybe a black child killed by drive by shootings, but putting that dude's name on their helmets was a slap in the face to all decent people.
ETA: I'm not boycotting anything, it's just simply losing interest. If the ratings are great, good for the NFL, if not, so be it. CNN even had a segment going into black communities and it was overwhelming the majority wanted more police, not less. I just don't see what these people are protesting, stats don't back up their claims. I've tried hard to look at their statements, people on this board, and others I know, and I don't see it. Now I even have black co-workers and friends who don't seem interested anymore. There are other things blacks and minorities can be upset about, sorry police brutality is tending to a scratch on the arm, and ignoring a brain bleed.

Great post.
The “moment of unity” was our national anthem when 70,000 fans plus every player used to stand proudly and celebrate our country and our game and what we had in common.
The players and their Globalist allies in the media have shat all over that. So I approve of the fans who booed this new BS “moment of unity” last night in KC and I approve of fans disowning this team for wearing a rapist’s name on their helmet at the whim of their leftist coach.

Who the Hell are you? Joseph fricking McCarthy?
Accusing people who disagree with you of being Communist went out of style 70 years ago.

You know they don’t say anything political and separate the political black lives matter with simply saying that actual black lives matter. If that’s all you want to look for then that’s fine, but if you have a problem with simply saying someone’s life matters or that we are united on equality then I don’t know what to say. Plus it’s talked about rarely. You can do what I do and just skip the pre game and just enjoy yourself.

Your feelings are noted. I don't blame you for feeling that way. I'm sure a lot do.
I'll still be watching on Sunday.

What I find extremely ironic and hypocritical is the fact that if anyone of the people the NFL is supporting (JB) behind BLM would be cut and Kicked out the league for their actions. Let Tom Brady put a firearm to a pregnant woman’s belly and TMZ find out about it! Let Aaron Donald sexually assault a 14-year-old and TMZ find out about it! They would be cut from their teams and football would be history In their life!
To me that is getting behind something your Organization truly doesn’t believe in but you are scared if you don’t, which means this side of the fan base is being taking for granted! And that’s my biggest issue.
