Always fun to beat the Falcons, but….

Stay on mission! The main goal for this season is to finish with a top 5 pick. My dream would be to be competitive in every game and lose by a FG. Let’s you evaluate the players and coaches and helps the future foundation.
The nightmare would be doing what we have been doing:
Finish 9-8, squeak into the playoffs, get blown out in 1st round by a team. Have a 14-17 draft spot. Trade future assets into the top 10 bc we “only need a few guys in key spots”, and the carousel continues.

That is absolutely not on anyone’s agenda in that building. Only yours and our fan bases. There is no qb that is truly worthy of tanking for. I’m sure we’ll win maybe 5 games. We’ll have a top 10 pick.

Watch we are about to hit a fricking win streak. I won't be surprised if we are 6-7 with Washington coming to New Orleans. I will not be surprised if this team finishes 8-9 or 9-8.

I think you are right, RawDog.
Who would we be tanking for this year? Just not a lot of sure things up there. Also, there doesn’t seem too be a QB in this class that would convince a team to trade us a bunch of picks and move up if we were in the top 5.

If this team somehow finds their way into the playoffs, there is no guarantee it will be a 1st round blowout. Obviously, a lot still has to unfold first, but it looks like Detroit is heading to that 1st round bye; and let's assume the Saints end up a WC, there is a possibility of a WC matchup with Arizona or Atlanta and are both winnable games. If the Saints win the South, they will be hosting Wash/Philly or Minny. All 3 opponents could be kept to a close game, and while the Saints will be the underdog "could" get a surprise win. Hell they always have them every year; playoffs not Saints.
Now, outside of a matchup with Arizona & Atlanta; I expect the Saints to lose to any playoff team (including if SF finally gets their shite together to take the West). I am simply refuting the automatic assumption they will get blown out. I am also hoping for a 5-12 finish (expect them to beat Clev & @NYG), but am worried they will end up 7-10 or 8-9 (LV, @TB & LAR are all winnable)

It is not a great QB draft. I do not want them to take a QB in the first. But, this team has holes throughout the roster. O-line: needs guard, RT is questionable
D-line: everyone runs on us, lack DE that are consistent matchup problems
WR: top end talent gets hurt consistently. After the small, injury prone top two we are left picking up waiver wire or raw late round players. This is an every year problem since 2021.
TE: no front line TE. A bunch of replacement level TE’s.
LB: best player maybe the oldest starting LB in the league. Productive but for how long.
S: older veteran who is productive but for how long. Other S are replaceable.
CB: our strongest and deepest position. But, it doesn’t have a clear, shut down guy.
RB: Older, small ( but durable) all time player. After him, nothing but questions.
Getting a top 5 pick isn’t just about the 1st round. Top 5 in every round we choose will give you maximum trade opportunities throughout the draft to fill some of these holes. We did not draft enough players over the past 4 years bc Mickey was WAY to aggressive in trading up on what he thought was sure things.

Are you fricking high? That would be amazing after losing 7 in a row.

Let's be honest, being in the top 5 with Mickey as the GM just means we only need to give up a 3rd so we can have a 2nd 1st rounder in the late 20s

Anytime you can beat the falcons you beat them. Period.

Get Erik McCoy back, have the running game/OL playing well again, and with a serviceable WR group led by MVS, it's a possibility.

There were a bunch of Falcons fans in my section and there was a lot of trash talking going on, most of it good natured. I am very happy I got to walk out of there with a W.

I'm fine with the win yesterday only because it was the Failcans. I hate them.
But, I hope we lose the majority of the rest of our games, all while still having some fight and keeping the score very close.
It's all about stacking draft picks, and while there might not be a top QB in the draft, there sure will be some studs we miss out on if we keep winning to prove nothing.

Sounds good to me. We are gonna suck next year regardless

Why? So Loomis can give Payton a blow job to take it?
Do you really trust this team with a top pick
