There may be changes coming to New Orleans, though. The offensive side of the ball will get a thorough examination following 2023. But those decisions for Allen and the Saints will be made in the coming months, with all indications as of now that he'll get a third season.

I’m assuming this wasn’t posted in here as it just came out today.

Hoping Ian is wrong but he’s one of the most reliable NFL reporters. Unfortunate news to hear but I guess at least we will make an OC change.

I would have already hired Gruden already, send DA back to D coordinator and hire a new OC

Hiring Gruden is the right move but they either don’t have the balls to do it or know the league would block it

He should but he must make changes on the offensive coaching staff.

He’s fricking terrible. They will go 7-10 or 8-9 and miss the playoffs again.

Don’t count out 9-8 and miss playoffs

Offense/playcalling has been our biggest problem. If we could say hire someone from the Shanahan tree and give them total control of the offense, I’d be intrigued. We are stuck with Carr for one more year regardless.

Hiring an over the hill guy like Gruden is better than Allen but it isn't the right move.

Yes it is, especially his history with carr.

Over the hill? He’s 60

No magical 35 year old wanting 15 mm a year is coming to new orleans

agreed, gruden was about to be fired before goodelle went after him.

he is another of those old coaches who got a few good years from stacked teams and had success, but they soon find they just got lucky and it wasnt the HC

gruden is the jimbo fisher of the NFL, the parallels are shocking

No way in the world Loomis fires him with an 8-9 or 9-8 record.

Not this year.

Maybe after next. Maybe.

As long as don’t throw good money after bad and do things like trade draft picks to move up or mess up our cap even further then I’m fine with this.

If he sucks as bad as we think then as the roster ages and the cap bill comes due we’ll bottom out and go like 3-14 and position ourselves to get a franchise qb and attract a good young coach.

What dynamic coach is lining up to coach this ticking time bomb of a roster?

Less to do with age and more to do with the very high likelihood that his best coaching days are 15 years behind him.

The only pro with Gruden is the obvious, Carr had the best stretch of his career with him. I’d prefer a younger more innovative guy. I’d also prefer Gruden over Pete by a huge margin.

I wonder if Kiffen wants another shot at the Pros? I wouldn't hate that though it may end up being a disaster

Clean up the salary cap hell we are in, WITHOUT kicking the can down the road, and let Allen take the hit next year for the next coach. There won’t be much left!

Looking at other team’s message boards, fans of every team in the NFC South want their coach fired (with Carolina having already done it). It’s crazy how horrible this division is

That would be hilarious after OM went all-in on the portal
