Taxpayers getting fleeced again. Take a look at all the La. politicians headed to Paris on the taxpayers dime to see the Saints. Supposedly under the pretense of an allowable business trip with some in between fun ! Remember during election time ! How do you stop this Crap !

You might have a point if it was the mayor doing it when the most high profile international event for the state wasn't taking place

But it's the governor during the most high profile international event for the state

I can see possibly the Gov . But the Governor, the Attorney General, and numerous other State and local politicians and security and support staff -no thanks ! I see where Moreno is going but she states she is paying her own way ?

I doubt she is paying for everyone going with her also. Maybe I'm wrong. I think it's a bad time to do this with the city being absolutely broke. Can't imagine it's a good return on investment.

You’re probably right on all the support staff. If it were not for the bad optics of all these expenses during the City’s financial crisis, you can bet she would be going on the taxpayers dime. Of course if Latoya and her boyfriend were still around, that certainly would not bother them !

They are all going just so they can learn from the riots how they will help destroy New Orleans.

Moreno is paying her own way, and no one else from the City is going. Her husband is loaded; she can easily foot the bill. Not to mention she is way too politically savvy to walk right into something like that.

I’m curious why the governor who hates New Orleans feels the need to go. Is he suddenly a Saints fan?

And the AG? Why does she need to go again?

Are Moreano and Landry both going?
They will have to keep them on separate sides of the suite because they are not speaking to each other.

IMO, it would be a worse look if he didn't go. This is a big event for the city/state.

Because she can and is from New Orleans

Yea I get it, I just think it’s funny to watch him pretend to be a saints fan. Although he has a lot of practice from pretending to be an lsu fan.

She can say she’s using her points and what not, but members of her staff are also going. So the city is still on the hook for some things. She also didn’t want to go on the AirFrance charter Monday because of the optics of being on same plane as Landry. Taxpayers funded this trip for a lot of people. Hopefully there is some return for it.

I just looked up a news story and it says members of her staff aren't going. She's much smarter than Latoya it seems. Unless it's a lie.

If it’s a lie, then surely the local networks will do a FOIA and find out.

I doubt she’s lying.

WDSU made their former investigative journalist back down often when digging into her, but that topic is for a different forum.
