and Brees had over 800% more passing yards than Rodgers! all the while also having a better completion percentage!
lol Rodgers barely even finished in the top 5 in passing yards.

Too bad MVP voting ends before the playoffs start

who gives a shite? regardless Brees was hands down the better QB this season. we don't even have to count that playoff choke job Rodgers pulled.
Rodgers has a small argument as the best QB in the NFL during the FIRST HALF of the season (with Brees and Brady right behind him), but in the second half of the season Brees was without question better. Brady was also far, far better than Rodgers was in the second half of the season as well.
the stats don't lie, but the media does. they have wanted this award for Rodgers since preseason and they made sure that he got it. I challenge anyone to argue against the second half stats. Rodgers was barely even a top 3 QB in the second half of the season.

If drew would have thrown for 800% more yards than rodgers, that would be 37,144 yards!
Hypothetical Drew Brees>>>>>>>Aaron Rodgers

48-2 ... perhaps our score against the dirty birds next season?
But yeah the landslide voting displays the media bias for Rodgers and a franchise with a storied history and four superbowls
voters looked at 45 TDs 6 INTS, and 15-1
any other year that would have been head and shoulders above the rest

But seriously, what's up with this?
I thought the average NFL fan thought is was pretty close.
Why did the media voters give it in a landslide?

it was sarcasm directed at the previous poster nut-hugging Rodgers.
the final MVP voting should have been -
1. Brees
2. Brady
3. Rodgers

its called agenda and politics.
the media has been campaigning for Rodgers to win this award for Green Bay ever since the beginning of the season. they have turned the other cheek and all but ignored anything Brees or Brady accomplished this season until they were forced to by Brees surpassing Marino's record. Both Brees and Brady were better QB's this season than Rodgers was.

I think Peyton Manning should have gotten it.

It did seem that the media crowned Rogers early to Mid-season as the undisputed MVP...Brees was solid early then finished nuclear...Sux that Rogers/Manning both had great years both times Drew was elite...As fans we are hypertuned to Drew and his otherwordly skills and leadership...Media should get a clue and do it w/o an agenda/politics....a landslide MVP season over Brees; it was not..!!

No, homer Saints fans thought it was close. Brees had twice as many turnovers as Rodgers and lost to two of the worst teams in the league while Rodgers went 15-1. The game is about more than just yards. The passing yard record is nice but 4 QB's passed for over 5000 yards. It's not like Brees is in a class of his own like many seem to think.

So Brees won the AP Offensive player of the year award and the Fed Ex player of the year award and you can't say it was somehow close.
The packers defense created a lot more turnovers this year and that is why they were 15-1. Saints ratio was -3 and the packers was +24. Add the difference in the interceptions and the saints are at +5 and still 19 turnovers behind the packers. If you try to say turnovers don't matter that much, just look to the packers loss in the playoffs where they committed 4 turnovers to the Giant's 1.
Rogers deserved it but it was closer than the media voting had it.

Meh. It's a popularity contest.

People forget about the easy arse schedule the Packers played. They got advantage playing the Saints in Lambeau on the 1st game, which every Superbowl winning team has. Denver no Tebow. Falcons when they were a .500 team. Giants after they caught a beat down from us.
THAT SCHEDULE WAS 1 OF THE MOST FAVORABLE SCHEDULES I EVER SEEN.
