Losing Bo Rein was a significant loss.... would have been a true GoldenAge after Bear leaving Bama right before... LSU had great talent in the 80s... but never sustained success ... of course this is only In Theory... but I will always lament this misfortune

LSU signed Basketball poster from 1989 1990 team IIRC... Jackson O'Neal Roberts et al....then laminated it...one of the natty title Flags from the Box signed and endorsed by LSU athletic dept... this was when LSU had an official Auction bid site.. .Michael Jordan rookie card

Best radio series..on the road v A&M... a loaded, loaded heavy fav... we small balled and pitched and clutch hit our way to a massive upset series win... I was trying to study for HS finals and keep up with an epic radio only series...

Stories from the 80s and 90s about individuals driving into the lakes at various locations. Specifically for me : had a roommate do it in the mid 90s... the whole shebang: floating the vehicle, fleeing the scene, walking for help, avoiding the authorities until sober enough to plead poor vision etc...long before cell phones ... I was still at home on outer Burbank area...only lived with us for 6 months or so..

Obviously there are many factors that spiral back to each individual...but the Yips are real ??... and recovering from them sometimes results in overcompensation. Outside Life as time goes on making the time/effort virtually impossible to compete and win Tournaments... financial security softens most a smidge too.

To be fair... it would take a metrics Guru a lot of time and effort to make an accurate assessment. LSU had some Great teams in the 80s.... hard to win a Natty then with Nebraska et al. Recruiting was more Regional then for most schools, so it was very difficult to go undefeated vs Neb Miami FlaSt Notre Dame Ohio St etc... I believe at least 2 of these teams might be able to Crack the top 10
