I’ll take this for sure. It sets you up for a shot at Caleb Williams next year and gives you basically a 1st this year as well

I think the Saints could get #3 if that’s all they ask for.
I think they’ll get multiple picks if it’s Houston or Denver

Am I the only one that thinks it's insane to not get at least two first round picks in any deal?

I think with 4 teams now likely in the mix, 2 Firsts, 1 third, and a 4th should be our baseline.
The Raiders got 2 firsts, 2 seconds and $8 million in cash for Gruden who had a much less impressive resume at the time.

The Cards held retired Bruce Arians’ rights and TB wanted him. The NFL actually said no compensation was owed. Az argued and TB decided not to fight- they switched 6th and 7th round picks to settle and avoid a lengthy dispute.
Point being, never underestimate Goddell’s ability to step in and screw the Saints- he seems to do so at every turn.

we will have two firsts in ‘24 to secure one of the QBs.
Unless Saints finish top 2, I don’t see any team finishing top 2 next year and being happy enough with their qb to trade out.

No to all 3. I'm hanging up the phone if it doesn't start with 2 1sts.

Why is everyone willing to settle for less than what Tampa paid for Gruden? The precedent was set.

That is not happening. No team will give up 2 first rounders for a coach. I know he has won a superbowl, but he should’ve won multiple superbowls. Point is teams are not going to give up multiple high future picks for what is uncertainty. A Coach may come in and win or may not. Without high draft picks, it makes it more difficult.

I'd really want to send CSP out of the NFC bit that Cards package is the better of the bunch. Especially if your not crazy about this draft 1st round outside of the top 10.

a team has done it already for a coach that hadnt won a superbowl. paytons record speaks for itself. he is a top 5 coach in the nfl and is one of the best offensive minds in the game.

after what the chargers just went through with a franchise QB they could easily give up 2 firsts for payton.

Once. 20 years ago. Did you see what Tampa gave up for the rights to Arians? There seems to be a wide range here. We’d all love to get the Tampa deal but this just doesn’t happen often enough to guarantee it.

Agreed. We'll get a few decent players with that high 2nd plus our own 2nd, and we'll suck enough to get a QB with our pick in '24. 2 1st in '25 to get him weapons

Change the calculus IMO. With Payton, their window opens immediately
