It is expected that New Orleans will be awarded the 2024 Super Bowl tomorrow.

Considering we're the only city vying for it, I'd say the odds are good.

About time still best city to hold it with Miami coming in a close second. NFL has basically said build a new stadium you are guaranteed a Superbowl with Miami and New Orleans rotating in every few years. Just been too many new stadiums built lately.

*edit* Superbowl in Vegas will be very interesting when that happens

So Brees can win a Superbowl at home and call it a career...I can dig this!

The Super Bowl should really be on rotation between New Orleans, Miami, Arizona, and the new Los Angeles stadium.

Let the all of the other cities host the NFL draft.

If we get the 2024 SB, it'll tie the longest drought NOLA has ever had to experience between hosting superbowls

Miami's longest was 10 and that happened twice (1979->1989, 2010->2020)

Our longest was 11 and that would have happened twice (2002->2013, 2013->2024)

Unfortunately, our droughts have been back to back. 2 in 22 years is a hell of a drought for the best venue available.

Is this the Superbowl for the 2023 season that would be on Feb 4 2024?

Or is it the Superbowl for the 2024 season that would be on Feb 2 2025?

Me and a guy were talking about this at work. Don't they usually name the finalists before selecting the city?

Looking at those dates, would almost seem the NFL has fallen out of love with nola as far as hosting. Will be 11 year stretches in between the last 3 they would have hosted.

The last 11 year stretch can at least be somewhat explained by Katrina, there was no way the city was getting the Superbowl on anything bid in 2005-2008.
