This isn’t an unusual draft tactic for the saints. In 2017 we used two first round picks on players with a history of injuries. One ended up being the defensive rookie of the year and a 4-tike pro bowler, the other ended up a 3-time all pro tackle.
Hopefully Tyson can come back strong, not miss any additional time, and make a similar impact

Two things can be true
He has been amazing in camp, justifying the talent at his draft position
and
All the worst fears about his injury history are true, justifying not picking him
Only time will tell. Some guys just figure the injury thing out. Some never do

olave should not step foot in a practice/scrimmage/preseason game again until week 1 prep.

Don't see him making a debut on the road at Metlife or in France with the bye right after. Cleveland is my guess unless he crushes the timeline and starts vs Vikings (or maybe a ramp up there).

I doubt he plays until after the Bye

Outside of Shough and maybe Chase young, I don’t think there’s an injury that impacts the team more than Tyson.

Saints sure are having a lot of injuries in camp.

Agree. Also helps sort out the rest.

Question: does Mickey Loomis get off on wasting first round picks? Like, did he cream his pants at this news?
Would explain a lot of it’s just a fetish of his.

This guy has been sidelined with this same injury MANY times before the Saints made him a Top 10 pick.
Jordyn Tyson has been sidelined or significantly limited by a hamstring injury four separate times in his career.
All four instances have occurred recently, dating back to his final college season at Arizona State and continuing into his rookie year with the New Orleans Saints
October 2025 (College): Sidelined during his senior season at Arizona State, which ultimately caused him to miss three games.
November 2025 (College): Suffered a secondary hamstring issue/aggravation later in the collegiate season
April 2026 (NFL Draft Prep / OTAs): Sidelined by a hamstring strain that prevented him from participating in the NFL Scouting Combine, ASU's Pro Day, and limited him during early rookie minicamps and OTAs
August 2026 (NFL Training Camp): Suffered his most severe hamstring injury to date during a joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
I'm trying to avoid being pessimistic here, but . . .
Do the Saints really think this guy is going to have a long All-Pro career?
I do not.

They actually used a Voodoo doctor from Houma.

I don't know what the Saints were thinking when they picked him first.
I stopped trying to figure out what the Saints might do.

He’ll never play a down for the Saints.

This is really disappointing. The kid just can’t stay healthy.

Rookie season is done. Nothing indicates this guy as close to being reliable. Another wasted pick on “potential” …
