Zion may have played his last game as a pelican. He will be over 300 pounds come Christmas and likely unable to get into shape before April.

I thought that you were saying the other day that "doctor's orders" was a cover for some baby mama drama or something.

In his interview in the offseason he said he had a live in personal chef and his weight was down and his goal coming to camp was 270, did that happen? Not sure, I do know his weight was dramatically down from last season at camp though, you could tell in his face he had lost weight.

270 is not in shape. He needed to be sub 250. A 300lb person can lose 50lbs in 6 months. He had more time than that and didn't get it done. I don't want to hear, "he was this big in college!". That has nothing to do with being in shape in the NBA. Big guys trim down to be able to play longer minutes and way more games. It's a grind. He's never been ready..

They said on the telecast that Zion asked TSpoon to come. They played up the big sister angle but glossed over why he called in his big sister. I don’t think she’s here for rehab. He clearly has an injury too, but I think there is personal drama of some sort as well. And there’s nothing wrong with that…if he came into the season in shape and wasn’t repeating old injury patterns.

You’re probably right on that. But I don’t know about TSpoon. I was glad we got rid of her. People like TSpoon to me for people like Zion are enablers. They sympathize on everything instead of actually telling the player a lot of it is his own doing. Personally I don’t think Zion needs a shoulder to cry on; he needs a kick in the arse.

Really need to start over. Have a good supporting cast but our "stars" can't ever get on the floor. Should be able to get good assets from pieces we have.

I wonder if the team knew of Zion's health prognosis before the Magic game.

Yes probably I guess depends on when imaging was done but with this team who knows. They always lie.

And what the heck does indefinite mean? Zion has been in and out of the lineup for over a week, and imaging now shows a strain? When he left in the 1st. half and got checked out and returned, what was checked? I just don't get how this team communicates.

Griff thinks he’s smarter than everyone else. Our media tolerates it so he gets to continue playing games with ambiguity .

Zion is out of shape and overweight and that will not get better with bad hammies. Indefinite means however long it takes his hamstring to heal ( Trey has been nearly 8 weeks) plus time needed to get his weight and fitness in check .

Remember last time Zion had hamstring problems he missed the entire 2nd half of the season.

A hamstring strain is no joke and doesn’t mean a player is a pussy. It just sucks that we’ve had more than our share of injuries.

Nope.

The first game with sickness.

I wasn't simply saying it, it was a fact.

In fairness...we get on Zion for not playing through an injury.

And in this case, it seems that there was a tweak, he kept playing, and it became a worse injury and turned into a strain.

There's a million things to criticize him for, but it does seem like he was doomed either way on this specific one...don't play through a "minor" injury and he is called out. Tries to play through it, and now he's out for a while.
