How many pounds we want him to lose? 20-25?

For me it's not as simple as pure poundage. He needs to be able to play for longer at full tilt.

How hard is it to get right when you have enough money to pay a dietician and trainer to follow you around 24/7?

I mean damn. Forget an Apple Watch alert. I expect there would be someone over my shoulder handing me snacks, meals, and letting me know when my next training set needed to be.
He already has over 100 million guaranteed dollars

I think the temptation to eat what you want instead of what’s healthy is likely hard for some people when they already have that much guaranteed cash

Yes, me and you would bust our balls and eat right for the chance to play, but we don’t have that much guaranteed money money

Doesn’t make it right, just is what it is

Hire coach K, get this shite rolling, then turn it over to Zion in a few years. They aren’t doing him any favors in Nola right now. Need to toughen up on this kid. I think he will be fine with the right leadership.

Joking about the coach K. But he needs a strong leader to help him understand what it will take.

And if he gets to lets say 260-265...he is still a damn defensive end playing basketball. Dude will be just as dominant but faster.

That’s true. I ate like shite in college and only gained 20 lbs over 5 1/2 years.

He has money where he can pay people to cook healthy food for him that taste delicious.

Its only hard to do all those things when you have to expend the extra effort to make it happen. Have someone design the food plan for you and let them make it happen.

100 Million so why even care? And this is the problem with Professional Sports. Massive Power Ball contracts that may be based on one or maybe even two outstanding college seasons.
Odds are leaning that he is going to have an average career, at best, instead of the next LeBron impact player.

Dude is only 20 years old, there’s a lot of things he will have to learn

He had knee surgery in October. I’m sure if limited his physical activity. These guys conditioning comes from being able to run the floor in practice and games. He could prob eat whatever he wants if he was healthy. It’ll just take adjustments on his part, which It sounds like He understands

Yes but the opportunity is already there for him to become the next Lebron impact BRAND..

The guy is a marketing wet dream... BUT the only way they can make that work for him is if he -- and his team -- succeed on the court

The Coach K bit is not as far fetched as some may think. If the NCAA starts sniffing their campus due to the Zion payments, allegedly, he may take a hard look at coaching the Pels with such a Duke influence on the team and with Langdon in the office.

My guess is he always ate like shite but somehow his metabolism slowed down and the weight came on fast. Something he wasn't used to. Would be sort of weird though considering he is still so young.

The lack of activity post Knee injury last fall definitely didn’t help. Likely the least active he’s ever been since he’s stopped growing and also likely he still had bad eating habits. He’s going to feel so much better after reducing his weight by 25-30 lbs.

Zion: Time to get body where it needs to be
These are just words, they mean nothing.

I get that his rookie season had its challenges, but why wasn't this season the time to get his body where it needs to be?

Because they were focusing on changing his movements? This whole year with Zion has been not what we expected. But the FO clearly sees it as a lost year and felt Zion had some things to work on. If he doesn’t hit the ground running next year it will be concerning.

I watched the interview again and at no point did Zion say he's fat. He says he needs to improve his physical condition because he's sick (maybe) but he doesn't talk about his weight at all.

He says above all that he will only take the opinion of the pelicans staff...

Right. Because "Zion Admits That He Is Fat" is not a headline that he or the team wants.
