His last rest on a b2b was chalked up to a plane delay and it being a team we could still beat without him.

Now he can’t go on a b2b at home vs a top conference opponent.

After the game last night Zion told Jen like 5 times that the biggest thing for him and BI right now is gaining chemistry together. So of course the team sits him It’s hard to take this team serious, it really is.

Exactly. After tonight he will have played in 77% of the games. Over the course of the season that is 63 games played.

If we are at the top of the conference fine - pace him for the playoffs like Embiid and let him play 60-65 games.

But we are most likely a play-in tournament team with Zion playing 60-65 games and a top 6 seed with him playing 75.

But mostly. I hate this for our fans that pay to watch this team.

Or a play in team that he will be watching from the sidelines in street clothes .

When he is healthy he should play .

It is a flat out disgrace period .

Hes not resting every other game.

The team had this plan put in place before the season.

Zion will sit on 2nd night of b2bs. The team has stated this

He will not sit every b2b. The team has stated this as well

If he misses every 2nd game of our b2bs he will play in 68 games this year.

He is not missing every other game. After tonight, he will have have missed 2 out of 12 games due to resting on b2b. The other game he missed would have been missed by any player, at least any player who I would want on a team I support. I’m not advocating for him missing tonight, I think he should absolutely play. But I think this is a team decision more than a Zion decision.

The point remains it has been proven since he was in college , he will not play a full season. Why sit him when he’s healthy ?

The season he played the most games he didn’t sit out games when healthy .What a novel idea .

Every game matters for this team. Yet the coaching staff has to deal with constant shuffling of lineups and our best players rarely being on the court together bc the front office, and the league in general , tries to pretend that sitting healthy players helps long term .

If a guy is healthy, he needs to play in more than 68 games.

Load management is fine but Zion should not be treated unlike any other star in the NBA. If he’s healthy, he doesn’t need to miss that many games.

He looked good at the end of the game last night. Wasn’t breathing hard. Just looked good in general. He could go tonight, this team just has the wrong approach on how to win basketball games.

100%

So not only do you upset the man baby, you lose any opportunity to build off back to back wins vs the top two seeds in the west

Zion is really sad you’re not spending your $20 bucks.

Hi Mr. Griffin and Welcome to Pels Talk!

I think you should care that fans can’t plan to go to the games to pay your salaries until the injury report is released because so many of us have been screwed over the years buying a 10 pack or half season…. and it often being the 10 pack or half season that none of the key players are on the court. We would have a much more supportive fan base and as a result a more attractive environment for NBA games if your mentality wasn’t what you posted.

Do better Mr Griffin, as fans wanting to see the players on your team play when they are healthy is not an unreasonable request when paying $250 for a family of 4.

Regards,
Pels Nation

Everyone should have expected this. He’s not in back to back shape yet and he played 34 minutes so he was never going to play tonight. Sucks though. Hopefully he gets in shape dinner rather than later because an out of shape Zion is a star but how much better can he be when he’s at his best? We will lose this one most likely unless we get another 30+ game from Hawkins to go with BI and Jonas putting up 20+. It’s going to be interesting to see who starts at the 4 tonight for Zion. I would bet it’s going to be Naji.

All the people talking about play Zion if he healthy do understand that exactly what we did last year and dude pulled his hamstring playing in the 3rd game in 4 nights and missed the rest of the year. There is no playbook yet on keeping Zion healthy they are just hoping this works. Zion probably want play in the second night of a back to back until the new year.

People need to relax. We won last time this happened and Zion got to rest best of both worlds. Again I do understand people going to the game it may suck- but on bright side it’ll be fun when the crowd starts chanting Jose Jose Jose!

If he needs to play to get in basketball shape, then he should play. This seems counterproductive.

I can someone get on board with resting him on back to backs BUT only if it’s away games. He is playing home games back to back. There is no plane or lack of sleep to create a scenario where his tendons would be at risk. I saw a study not to long ago showing that lack of sleep is a major factor in your tendon strength and health. Which is would I would guess is a huge factor in his injuries because even he has admitted that he thought he was unstoppable

Yes, but that was against the Pistons. This is against a healthy, rested T-Wolves team.

Can’t say this is too surprising. If this leads to him playing a full season, then I’m okay with it

Is it really a full season if he's "resting" every other game?

What happened last year is he didn’t take his rehab serious enough, and then he and his people rushed him back in an attempt to play in the all star game. Reinjuring his hamstring should not have been a surprise and was unnecessary.
