Zion playing a few minutes in the all star game could be a nice workout for him I mean our practices and shoot around are more intense. Plus I fill like Zion would push the medical staff to clear him for on court activity if the scans come back good earlier because being a starter is really a honor to him he wouldn't want to miss.

I love Zion, but he didn’t deserve to be named starter this year. He didn’t play enough games.

Sabonis got hosed.

a healthy zion had us in the #1 spot in the west at times and we were #2 or #3 in the west when he got hurt..that equal to all-star starter in my book and adding to that the points he was avg.

I get he is a top 5 player in the West when healthy

But Sabonis has been healthy the entire season and has the frickin Kings at the 3 seed

I’m attempting to look at this from an unbiased perspective.

This dumbass continues to show his true colors-

Zion Williamson named an All-Star starter. It is his second All-Star appearance. First during non-COVID times. Pretty big surprise.

He has a hard on against the Pels and Zion in particular.

considering thats basically been all his career has been up to this point, with some flashes of great in there, it's kind of hard not to acknowledge the painfully obvious

Sabonis has his team at the 3 seed when they weren’t even supposed to be top 8. Averages double the rebounds. Double the assists. And he plays more games. Triple doubles damn near every night.

What the frick are you talking about? Are we really doing the points per game argument in 2023?

I get he’s a Fricking Pelican. And maybe I’d co-sign that he should be an all star starter if he played 10-12 more games, but he didn’t.

You are not helping the team and a waste of cap space if you do not play.

Yeah, its all Sabonis, has nothing to do with Fox, Huerter, Keegan, its all Sabonis.

They didn’t go anywhere with Fox for 6 years. Keegan and Huerter are nice role players. But Sabonis is the best player on that team despite everyone clowning the Kings for trading Hali for him. The Kings were considered a quasi play in team before the season. They are likely going to host a home playoff series.

Zion scores more points. They both shoot 60%. Sabonis boards and assists better and he has stayed healthy enough for Sac to be peaking now, vs whatever the hell the Pels have been doing for the past 3 weeks.

So there is a "Ride the bench in street clothes" category?

Had to be a close vote with AD

I agree with you.

By the time the allstar game is played, Zion will have played in 29 games, and sat out 30 games.
Sabonis has missed 2 games. He deserved it more.
Zion barely deserves to make the all-star team, much less start, strictly b/c of the games missed, obviously not b/c of his play b/c he is a top 10 player in the league, when he plays.
I'm just wanting the NBA to put more emphasis on playing the god damn game and stop being a bunch of pussies constantly sitting out for rest or taking 2 months off anytime you get a slight feeling of discomfort.

I’m an unapologetic Pelicans homer and I’m glad Zion was named starter. And seeing the players voted Z 3rd, Markkanen 4th and Sabonis 5th, it seems to me there is justification for it. However, I’d point anyone who has issue (or not) to Oleh Kosel’s article on this topic on the bird writes this morning.
