I would never consider giving him the supermax.

I cant take the "I want Zion traded" + "I want to win" people seriously.
Here are some inconvenient truths:
1) Zion is by far the best player talent wise on the roster.
2) New Orleans is NOT a FA destination.
3) From all accounts, Zion is heavily invested in making New Orleans work.
4) You trade Zion you run risk of losing Trey Murphy.
5) This team currently is in lapse of talent (this is seen versus actual playoff teams).
First and foremost, you don't even consider trading Zion until 2026 offseason at the earliest. If your pick unfortunately lands outside of the top 3, hopefuly a non retarded GM will try to leverage that pick into another quality player thats maybe in distress in another location. Finally lets look at the roster in terms of talent:
1) Zion - The best by a long shot
2) Trey Murphy - The only true player close enough to MAYBE one day catch Zion
3) CJ McCullom - Great guard, aging out. Should be our 6th man in a serious organization
4) DJM - Tore Achilles, wont ever 100% be the same.
5) Herb Jones - Quality Role Player, fit offensively is a problem
6-10:
Hawk: Its Joever for him, and I was a fan.
Jose: Undersized guard that is high energy, great for the end of the bench
Missi: Has some promise but a rookie and will take a few years to develop
Brandon Boston: Has the upside to be your backup SF on a nice contract
Kelley Olynyk: Would have been the perfect backup big when he was 29 (hes about to turn 34 now)
11-15:
Reeves: We dont know what we have from him because our current staff refuse to play him
Karlo: Bro dropped 19pts last night but a few weeks ago I saw him out of position like 100 times
Who cares about the rest. As you can see this team lacks talent in quite a few positions.
Bottom Line, you have to ride the Zion Titanic until it hits the iceberg. Were not LA, MIA, or NY.

I absolutely was until this year. His hammy and effort at the beginning of the season was must see shite.
And yeah, if he does get all nba and and lead us to the west finals, I'll be all caps happy as frick. It's what we all want, but I'm not going to sit here and say I won't be skeptical.
Zion deserves all the criticism ever.

I agree with a lot of what you wrote. The above I have a hard time buying, because if he were heavily (interesting choice of a word here) invested, he would at least be in decent shape the majority of the time. And he flat out hasn’t been.

Damnit someone go get Zion 100 piece from Canes immediately, we got a tank to conduct here! No really though, love that Z is in great shape and he and Trey look like they are definitely a potent 1-2 but we still have to find that #3 as well as solve our issues at center and a couple bench pieces. I’d be playing Reeves 20+ minutes a night. Give him Hawkins’ minutes for all I care I’ve given up on him. He will always be too hot or cold to be anything of value. If we can get a 2nd for him in the offseason I’d do it.

Is it the multiple injuries? Is it the fact that he's finally in shape after the 2 seasons are effectively over?
It's awesome that he looks good now, but y'all are giving him way too much credit for acting like a pro for the first time in 6 years.

He literally just sat out two games ago for return to conditioning shape or something like that. I'm never going to fall for this again. He'll miss multiple games over the next month, then some people will try to justify it. It's the same cycle and we are 6 years in. He doesn't like basketball and doesn't want to be great. It's past time to let it go..

He’s unguardable at the 3 when we have 2 other bigs on the court playing the 4 and 5 spots. Interesting bright spot for this team going forward.

It only took more than half of a season to get in shape
I honestly do not care anymore if he stays or goes. GM needs to go. Coach needs to go. Until then this team will suck.

I wish Zion was a better ft shooter by this point

Are you new here? I have said for over 5 years that he should be under 250lbs at a minimum. I famously said his target should be 235. I gave examples and have linked all type of data to support it. I have never faltered or backtracked at all.
Do you think I'm the only one that says this or that he should listen to me? Find any body that covers basketball, they all say the same thing. This isn't new. I watched Gils Arena the other day, 6 different guys all agreed that Zion should be a guard. Nick Young couldn't understand why he's so big, that he should weigh about as much as Anthony Edwards. Kenyon Martin, who has a son in the NBA, just shook his head at how insane the situation has been. I can do this all day and point out tons of different people that say the same thing.
Now find me anyone, seriously anyone, that will proclaim a 260+lbs yolked up Zion will have long term success in the NBA. Please, I'd love to see it..

And you were right. I fought you on that constantly. I think sub 250 needs to be his goal. He needs a 3pt shot and to trim weight. He's a 2 guard with his skill set.

Before too long people are going to acknowledge that the Tyreke Evans 2.0 comparison was appropriate, too.

That is a great comp. I loved Evans. He's another cautionary tale though of a guy that couldn't handle stardom and adapt.

Shannon Sharpe? no thanks. loud mouthed idiot that likely knows absolutely nothing about the situation and is just looking for clicks by talking about it.

I watch a ton of basketball related shows and pods, especially on YouTube. So I see a lot of different views and takes. I am sure you are incredibly original and never taint your perspective with outside voices. If we could all be so gifted..
