Jeff Teague is unimpressed, kind of unloads on zion. Hard to argue with anything said.

“This is probably the dumbest press conference I ever heard in my life. All this stuff is because of you. You choose to eat, be out of shape, and now say they should believe in me. They gave you a max deal, they’ve been believing in you fool,” Teague said.
Teague’s rant continued on for over a minute, and he closed his thoughts by saying he’s no longer a fan of Williamson.
“Hell no, I’m off that. I ain’t a fan no more. You the one who was damn near 300 pounds,” Teague said.

Another day another source. Let that sink in

For the time being, Zion Williamson is probably untradable. The combination of his track record of poor conditioning and health, plus the ongoing rape lawsuit that arose in May probably make him toxic to the majority of the NBA. But trade circumstances can change quickly. Think of Zach LaVine. He obviously didn't have the off-court concerns Williamson did, but the Bulls spent the entire 2024 offseason trying and failing to move him. A few good months on the court and they were able to do it for value. It went unnoticed as the Pelicans closed out a disappointing season, but Williamson was spectacular in January, February and March last season. A few more good months is going to tempt someone. The Pelicans aren't building as though they expect to keep Williamson. It's hard to see him and 2025 lottery pick Derik Queen being compatible. They're both ball-handling power forwards with defensive vulnerabilities and conditioning issues. New Orleans used its other pick on Jeremiah Fears, another high-usage ball-handler without a proven jumper. Their big free agent addition, Kevon Looney, is yet another non-shooter. You can plausibly believe that the Pelicans are trying to build around Williamson and just doing a bad job of it. This front office ... umm ... let's say doesn't exactly inspire confidence. But it seems likelier that they're eyeing a post-Williamson future.

Would you like something from a Pelicans writer? Here you go buddy!

There have been trade rumors surrounding Zion and the Pelicans for literal years, but the 2025-26 season could be when they come to an end, at least for New Orleans. If he can start the first few months of the season strong, the Pelicans should capitalize on that by finding a trade suitor. The reality is that it will take a lot more than Zion playing well for New Orleans to be a threat, so trading him while his value is high won't hurt the Pelicans. It'd be the best thing for them. Pelicans need to trade Zion if he starts the season strong Keeping Zion to have a shot to compete in the Play-In Tournament shouldn't be New Orleans' goal, not at all. It'd be the Pelicans' luck to decide to do that, only for Zion to get injured and be unable to finish the season. Or, to make it to the Play-In Tournament (which would be a feat in itself), and get injured there.

Tom Haberstroh had an article the other day suggesting that the clippers should trade whatever firsts and swaps they can now, before the NBA possibly takes them away. Their target? One guess

People in the media are always going to try to steer big name players away from here. It is what they do. All I know is this team becomes what all of those national media members think they are already if they trade Zion. With a healthy Zion there is hope. Look at the engagement over the last two days. Without Zion this team will be bad and terribly uninteresting. Our best hope remains that Zion has figured it out.

That dude is a retard. He’s always spamming articles. Don’t know why he gets off on that.

We’re a 21 win team in a shite market. You aren’t going to find many rainbow and unicorn articles right now on the Pels.
The best thing going for us right now is Zion losing 60 lbs. We need to celebrate that today, because once the season starts wins will be rare again.

Makes you wonder if Dumars has in the back of his head that he can get a protected pick back by shopping Zion if things go south again.

For three 1sts starting in 2030. Zion will be 30 years old by the time the first pick will be suiting up in summer league.

Most of the Zion trade scenarios are basically ridiculous.
If Zion is healthy and playing great, Dumars isn't going to trade him and tank in a season where we don't have a first round pick to tank for.
If Zion is hurt, no one will want him. He will have no value.
The only way that I could possibly see a trade happening would be if he got hurt at the beginning of the season, we lost so many games that we were out of the play-in race, and then Zion recovered and got healthy right before the trade deadline. That's a very unlikely scenario.

He's still like 240-250 lbs
They say that he is at 265lbs right now (that's what Legler stated). I think he a bit under that, closer to 250.
The new pictures are pretty shocking, to me. It's great he's leaning out. We'll see how he adjusts to playing at this weight, and if he can develop his musculature further..

quote:what’s that got to do with anything? They’ll have to include players to salary match, who the pels can flip for more assets. I disagree with those saying if he’s playing well you can’t trade him…that’s the only time you can trade him. If they want to of course

Bro he was listed at 255 in high school, and 285 at duke lol. He’s probably in the range of 270-275.

Either way he looks fantastic and hopefully we see a glimpse of old Zion
