Oh I’ll absolutely agree with this. That IST performance was abysmal and a big part of why I speak so much about how inconsistent this team is.

The fact of the matter is though when the reigns were turned over to Zion and he was the clearcut #1 leader of the team he delivered and delivered big, despite the fact that he was a bit out of shape then also.

Currently do you think his trade value is high?

The entire league would definitely value him differently, but we would still get more for Zion than we got for AD, and it would be closer to a package Brooklyn got for KD.

The comment you replied to was about him being lazy and immature and the league being aware of that . .

If you can’t concede that is his reputation then there is no point in have conversation.

2 time all star is fine . He’s had moments of OMG look at what this guy could be .

He’s also consistently missed games and he has not consistently gotten better as a player. Are those not concerns for a guy you are adamant about going all in on ?

I disagree here. I don’t think we would get close to the AD haul for Zion. I highly doubt this. AD was touted as one of the top players in the league and had been 2 playoff runs with us. They were comparing AD to Giannis when he was a pelican. To me ADs value in nola was a lot higher than its been in LA.

I think your valuing the league’s perception of Zion way too high.

I think your view of Zion is wayyyy too high which is the point of contention in our conversation .

He's be a solid fit as a to Zion.

I agree what people have been saying on him as a #2. Although I feel the Nets view as a number #1 and might ask accordingly in the trade market. He’s one you have to be careful not to overpay from a trade perspective.

Yea. Only takes 1 team, and I'd bet 1 team thinks they can get him to buy in and would pay a hefty price for him.

Wait, if ya'll think we could get an AD haul for Zion, I'm making that trade now.

I think his value is higher than Ingram's but in no way do I think we could get what we got for AD. Not even close.

If we could, I'd be all over it and then try to find a foreign born franchise savior.

So you don’t think we could get 3 young players and 3 1st round picks with a couple of swaps?

Have you looked at the trade market lately? That’s the cost for non all star players with multiple years left on their contract.

Eh maybe. I get it, you never know with one team but generally I don’t think Zion’s value is as high as some fans think it is.

Just last season Memphis offered a couple young players and 5 1st round picks to Brooklyn for Bridges…

First I think that was a RUMOR they offered 4 first round picks. We have no idea what kind if protection was on them. I don’t think there was any mention of couple of young players but I’m sure they could have been involved due to salary purposes. Yes Mikal wasn’t all star but he was averaging near 26 points a game with the Nets during the time.

In the end again its a rumor- I would honestly use actual trades to determine value. I dont believe there were any trades made according to what value you have stated.

Bridges is in a bad spot...for a player that wants to play hard (and the right way) at both ends. Lousy teammates just gradually wear down a player like Bridges...and he has several that fit that description at NJ. It's VERY hard to play close to 100% on both ends, when you're the best defender AND carrying a heavy load on the offensive end.

So...he has let his D drop quite a bit with his added load on offense. Very few players can operate at a high level on both ends, for any extended amount of time. He won't be making any more All-Defensive Teams if Nets stay the same, as a team. He COULD pick things up at playoff time...at both ends...but the Nets are not gonna be anywhere near the playoffs. JMO: He's still a player that might be available for a bit of a discount at some point...since he is playing quite a bit below his ability...at the moment.

Bottom line IMO...he's not a "Batman"...but he could be a VERY strong "Robin"...I'd luv to have him.

Charlotte - BI (or Zion) and Zeller.
Pels - Washington, Miller and Williams.

Portland - Zion (or BI) and Naji.
Pels - Henderson and Brogdan.

Obviously picks can be added if required.

Let Jonas expire to use on FA's or re-sign on a 1-2 year contract to look to move in 2024-25 trade deadline.

2024/25 Roster

CJ/Brogdan/Henderson/Alvarado
Herb/Hawkins/Seabron
Miller/Dyson/Ryan
Trey/Washington/Liddell
Williams/Nance/Robinson-Earl

Then the salries for 2024-25 will be around 145-150M.
Then expiring contracts in Nance and Brogdan to add to the core and Murphy's contract extension for 2025-26.

My fault, I was talking about Sacramento media compared to ours, not the front offices

Apples for apples then.
Is Zion really where he was supposed to be after 5 years?
If Scoot is a bust after 40 games, then Zion is also what he is after 5 seasons (well below).
