Phoenix could have used him last night. Atlanta bigs abused them. They are just too small.

Imagine we kept J Val and made the same move

D Griff being a retard strikes again

Not to mention. We drafted this dude and traded him for nothing as well.

Keeping JV, even for $10 million per year, would have put the Pels over the 1st Apron. If you go over an apron then transaction restrictions kick in.

On top of that Missi doesn't get this development time if JV is on the roster. Sure he'd get minutes, but this season has played out almost perfectly for Missi.

We couldn’t keep JV after trading for DJ….

We are hard capped at the first apron because we took back more money than we sent out, we literally don’t have the money that JV was paid

Don't bring actual rules and logic into the conversation.

I mean, you are the one arguing with a rockets fan about role players that aren’t model citizens meanwhile our franchise guy is an absolute undeniable piece of shite.

I understand the salary cap. Moves definitely could have been made at last deadline or the summer to retain J Val and stay under the apron. Griff has missed a lot during his tenure. Not figuring out how to keep J Val for basically no money is part of that.

We traded our most reliable player over the last 3 years for nothing. I like Missi fine, but let’s not pretend like our big man rotation wouldn’t be a lot better with J Val and Missi splitting mins. J Val was also a nice vet leader that players feared and respected.

And he could’ve easily been flipped for Nick Richards if we decided we needed to be more athletic at the 5. But Griff never thinks ahead. It’s why we are 8-40 in year 6 of his Era.

You do realize Yves is better than Richards, right?

How long until Durant starts turning Richards into his whipping boy like Nurcic was?

You do realize that while Yves is good for a rookie, we still have the Worst Center rotation in the entire league and Richards eating 15-20 mins a game, would not be detrimental to this team at all.

Who’d have thought that a shitty big man making $18m/ season couldn’t be moved if you don’t have picks or other talent to attach to him?

Nor an over the hill washed up often injured SG with a no trade clause making 50 million

Not Matt Ishbia

I swear that a new owner doing shite like this is some kind of hazing ritual by the league to get all their picks.

Happened with the Nets when their owner wanted KD and Pierce.

Its their thought that they could just come in, make a big move, and somehow win.

Those 2028, 2030 swaps will be enticing if Washington could actually improve

They’ve got nothing of value to swap and Mavs might not want to help a team next to them in the standings.

They have 3 tradeable 1sts.

Vanderbilt and Wood gets them the salary matching

I was thinking players that actually improve their roster. Vanderbilt was a decent player but he’s been injured forever.

That’s when Dallas turns around and sends the 1st from the Lakers to another team along with Vanderbilt and gets whatever they want,

Or keeps the 1st and sends 2nds
