Forward Daulton Hommes — the 2019 Division II player of the year — has agreed to a two-way deal with New Orleans, his agent James Dunleavy of @excelbasketball tells ESPN. He’s playing for Pels summer league team after a season in Italy.

This guy was trash today. Was pulling up thinking he was Curry

Yeah if it only takes a 1-7 shooting performance to get a two way contract then sign me up Griff.

Dude was arse cheeks and the team go better the moment he rode the bench. Guess we’ll see if it was just nerves or not

I do wonder if they are just looking for a guy that can bomb it (or thinks he can) for practice purposes.

We can have up to 20 under contract through camp, I believe.

Seems a bit premature. He was easily the worst player on the court today.

I guess this more telling that Lauri isn't happening and that maybe Hart will return. Maybe they like Herb enough to make sure he's on the roster at all times up front. I don't know. Thought Herb would be best on a two-way deal this year. I feel like we could have drafted another guy better than this cat in the second round and use that contract there instead.

Woj Bomb in caps got me extremely excited…

In reality got to hope it was nerves and his 3p shot drops, hoping this isn’t another Melli situation though.

Can we waive two-way players after a certain time span?? Not knowledgeable about this

To bring Hart back they would have to cut Wenyen and then you are painfully thin at PF. Or not sign Herb and why wouldn’t you have Herb as a 2 way?

I have only watched the first half of the game so far, but Hommes is very quick for his size. I like his defensive instincts.

I think people on here are just hating on his shot selection for the most part. it was pretty glaringly bad. Can’t say I blame him. He knows his only shot to get a look in the league is to randomly drop a few 30 or 40 spots in summer league and you can’t do that as the 9th man on a Summer League team without attempting some iffy shots lol.

So the thoughts so far:
PG: Graham/Lewis/Satoransky (3)
SG: NAW/Louzada/Temple (3)
SF: Ingram/Marshall/Murphy (3)
PF: Williamson/Gabriel/Jones (3)
C: Valanciunas/Hayes/Hernangomez (3)

Who goes?

With those 15 I think Gabriel is first on the chopping block. If you do it to bring back Hart and you need more back up PF minutes, you either let Jaxson play some there or go small with Hart/Naji/Jones

The key takeaway from this signing is that our front office now feels confident that Herb Jones is deserving of a regular contract.

I do want Herb as a two-way...sorry my rant was a bit incoherent.

I thought we'd go actually NBA guy as the backup 4 (Lauri or someone else)

Seems like Hart is more likely to return on a short-term deal and Murphy will be the backup 4

Murphy started today's game at the 4...I think he's the backup 4 going into the season

It's fine in the summer league, but I don't think he has the strength to defend most NBA power forwards. I believe he's an SF for now.

Hart and Murphy seem interchangeable as backup 3/4 ...

Both play good defense and can defend guys bigger than them - especially Hart

And Hart's shooting isn't great but for a backup 4 it certainly isn't terrible

maybe a small ball 4, but he's way too light to be a traditional 4 right now. I would be more inclined to think herb jones as the small ball big though since he can play defense.

You could convince me he could be 2/3 since he seems like he has the foot speed to guard 2s
