I think it’s a legitimate question, at what point is the Lakers own ineptitude an asset for the Pelicans?

Like is the Lakers botching of this trade resulting in their struggles to put competent players around LeBron and AD more valuable to the Pelicans than anything else they could give us?

Why do you think Griffin structures the picks as he did? It’s extremely obvious and almost insulting to the Lakers face.

you just saw it in the trade of AD

greenie on ESPN said that the Lakers weren't the ones to lure LeBron or AD. That LeBron just wanted to be there and then AD wanted to be there because of LeBron, not because of anyone involved with the Lakers. He went further to say that "the only thing that the Lakers had a hand in, [the trade negotiations] they screwed up"

how awesome of a quote is that?

We agreed to a trade and they agreed to a trade. If they want to change the deal to help them, it is not in bad faith to ask for something else to help us in return.

The icing on the cake is if a disaster happens, the Lakers don't make the playoffs, and Davis opts for free agency... then he can sign with the Pels~

Yeah, we gonna need 2 more picks..

Oh, and pick swaps for all the years between, especially 2020 because they look like a shitshow is about to happen

Haha.
If that were to happen, he’d go Clippers with Kawhi.

And the Lakers would be left with literally no one but a 37 year old Lebron

Most likely. But it's still a hilarious scenario to ponder.

'Uh, thanks for giving up all those picks and stuff... I'm going to go back to New Orleans.'

I would laugh my fricking arse off if that happened.

Not that I particularly want him back, top 5 player or not, but it would completely screw the Lakers, help us, and cost AD money at the same time.

I don't even want Kuzma, just loosen some protections on those first and throw in an extra one

We want kuzma so we could use him to flip instead of ball or Ingram.

Kuzma + 4 wouldn't give us the same return as 4 + ball/ingram, but it'd give us a better return than just 4 and we could keep ingram and ball
