Zion for KD and Joe Harris would get us a title. I still don't want to do it.

He's a malcontent from day 1 and demanding a trade by this year's trade deadline. Never buys in and we basically have to trade him for a much smaller return no later than next offseason?

For whatever reason in the NBA, when a star wants out, he has like 95% of the leverage, gets traded and usually exactly where he wants to be traded.

Just how it goes.

Which is one of the main reasons why the NBA is 4 out of 4 in terms of the main 4 sports in the US. The NBA execs and front office members should just boycott and let the players run the league into the ground themselves. Most players with any real pull get their way anyway, so why not just let them go wherever they want, whenever they want, and on whatever terms they want? I will never wrap my head around a player demanding a trade to one specific team. If I was the GM of the Nets for example, I would make it a point to not trade KD to the Suns. Would field the best offer possible, whether that offer was from the Suns or from a team like the Kings.

Posted this in the other thread, but it's being discussed more here.

Phoenix has a very good package to offer:

Suns send out:

Ayton to Brooklyn, along with picks and swaps from 23-29
Crowder to a cap space team like the Pistons
Saric to another cap space team like Houston
Craig into the Brooklyn TPE (already agreed to)

Suns would probably need to include Mikal Bridges, or at a minimum, Johnson.

And I'm still not sure Nets say yes

Brooklyn instantly hangs up on us if Trey, Herb, or Dyson isn't part of the deal.

There's no conversation to be had on the Nets side if BI or Zion isn't involved.

Agreed. I’d much rather target some of their role players like Seth

Base year compensation makes it really hard, but there obviously could be way more convoluted ways to make it work.

What's the point in adding a player like Mikal Bridges? What good does he do for them? Are they rebuilding or are they still trying to be good. Bridges makes sense to add to a team that already has a 1 and 2 scoring option, but I don't know how much sense he makes on a team like Brooklyn in a rebuild.

Wonder if we can get in as a 3rd team with Graham, Hayes and/or Temple and come out with Curry or Johnson.

Ok now that is just pathetic.

“Yeah, Lakers be on that list but wouldn’t trade Klutch’s overpaid butt boy for Kevin Durant.”

Nubian Warrior, please.

It sounds like the nets want the best offer regardless

We wouldn't have to do anything. He is about to be 34 and on a 4 year deal. It's a game of chicken KD wouldn't win and he's already one of the most sensitive snowflakes about his reputation in the league. Pouting his was off a playoff contender cause it's not a glamorous enough market would DESTROY kd's legacy.

And KD would be coming to a team with one of Zion/BI, the head of the player's association, Willie Green, Jonas, and a bunch of talented role players.

It would be the best team he'd have on offer, including Phoenix.

If New Orleans were inclined, we could. My main concern would be KD's health and longevity.

if the deal is as is with Bridges vs as is without Bridges, you always take the good player and figure the rest out later.

Sign and trade rules don’t allow you to send out other players with the signed player.

I guess my point was, if Bridges was involved and I'm Brooklyn, I'd rather route him to another contending team and get more picks out of the deal, rather than have the player Bridges on my roster.

Same way adding DRuss helped the pre KD team.

The Marks strategy pre KD when they had no picks was basically:

- Rent cap space for assets
- Acquire distressed assets and rehabilitate and flip them
- Acquire quality young role players to flip/build the foundation for to attract FA's
- Use FA and the non-draft market to find talent to develop and flip/build with

Getting Cam Johsnon/Mikal would fit right into the Marks strategy.

I've heard people say this before, but I've never found the clause in the CBA that states that. And I've looked for it. It could have to do with simultaneous and non-simultaneous trades, but that shite gets convoluted

Not sure the swaps will matter much since Houston sucks so bad.
