We said this about AD, just saying.
Did we? Cause I remember all the stories about how he was a bit of a prick around New Orleans and unlike Zion, there was actual, constant fire coming from his camp and father about not wanting to be in New Orleans from day one til he left. His parents being actual POS nightmares on the periphery.
About the only time you saw him take part in the city positively was when Cousins got him to go ride in Endymion.

I think BI is in NOLA as long as the Pels want him. As long as he gets fair extensions I don't see him going to a big market or teaming up with someone else.

Lopez was on Windhorst's podcast to talk about the Zion extension.
Windhorst is still the only national guy i've heard claim the Pelicans might have actually been in contact with Brooklyn. Everybody else just throws our name in there because we have the assets.
He again implied we've been talking to them, with Dyson Daniels not being signed yet as evidence. Also hinted that we haven't offered Ingram...yet.

And I don't think they will offer BI. If they can get KD for everything but our existing Big 3 they'll do it. But if that's the best offer the Nets get, I think Brooklyn doesn't make a trade.
My first instinct when Brooklyn so quickly put KD on the market after he asked is that they knew exactly what would happen. Everyone would low ball them and he'd be able to say "We tried, but it would be an insult to your legacy to trade you for so little. Now go win a title and show them what they missed out on."

I could see them accepting a trade with BI going out, but they aren't sending out BI, other young assets (Herb, Trey, Dyson), and picks. If it's BI, it's just BI, Temple, and maybe 1 pick or something.
Which I still don't think that Brooklyn would accept.
But, as Windy hinted at. It's not going to be us technically offering BI, it's going to be us making them make us an offer so that we can have the ability to deny that BI was ever offered by us.

Pels would be very very stupid trading 24 year old BI let alone BI, Herb, Dyson, 4 picks like twitter seems to think. There isnt a goddamn chance in hell that happens.

HOWEVER, I think someone said that we have 13 first round picks over the next 7 years. I'd literally offer them every one of those picks + every combination/amount of the non top 3 guys they wanted. Its still a no from them. But 10+ plus first rounders and our entire roster 4-15 might make them think. You get Zion-BI-CJ-KD on one team, I couldn't care less about the rest of the roster. Those guys plus TDs finest would be championship favorites.

We have to match kd’s salary and I could be wrong but there might be a pick limit for trades

And Windy talks to Griff all the time. Even on that podcast, Windy referenced the numerous conversations that he's had with Griff about the Zion extension. There's probably no national guy more tied in to the Pels front office.

I do think the Pels are looking to talk with KD. Any good GM would. I dont think they’re trading BI tho. Not a fricking chance.

The only thing limiting picks in a trade is the Stepien rule, but otherwise you can send as many as you want. OKC could send out like 10 without hitting Stepien.

So they can’t be consecutive and that’s it? What are the exceptions?
Posted on 7/6/22 at 9:16 am to Hailstate15
Can only send out 7 years in the future and you have to have at least 1 pick in consecutive years (which is different from not being able to trade picks in consecutive years).
We can send out 7 picks.
We can send out 7 picks.

That's it. There are loopholes and so on.
You could trade this year's and next year's on draft night for instance, because you pick the player, and then its no longer a pick, you're trading the player and next year's pick.
If you have another team's pick, you can trade your own in consecutive years...you just have to have a 1st rounder in that year, doesn't matter if its yours or someone elses.

Only way I’m sending 7 is if it’s a price match w dg hayes etc. No bi or herb. I’m in the group that wants nothing to do with the trade if it involves Bi or Herb. Those are long time cornerstone pieces and we got one of them for a second

I think it's 7, I may have miscounted.
23
24 Lakers
25
25 Bucks top 4
27
27 Bucks

ETA: it's only 7, if you include the Bucks 2025 top 4 protected piece
And yeah, I'm not sending out 7 picks anyway

We could also trade swaps in other years.
