Pels would have to get the 4 pick and 7 pick of draft, love these possible guys and still you’re betting Ingram and Kuz is worth a shite. I like kuz but I think he’s already seen his ceiling.

That’s on top of I’d rather keep ad to east

Why would we want a bunch of scrubs who couldn’t get the 8 with Lebron?

I've often thought that the fans on our board tend to overestimate the haul that we'll get for AD...

But holy lord I've never seen a more delusional group of fans than the ones on the Lakers reddit

4th pick is kind of underwhelming. As are the Lakers collected young talent. Any future draft picks coming from a Lakers team with AD and LeBron are going to be around 20ish at best. So, yeah, I can see why Pels wouldn't be interested compared to New York and Boston.

Sad part is that he actually has to tell people this because Laker fans are some dumb motherfrickers.

“Yeah, we’ve got this because we got the fourth pick!”

“It’s a three player draft and New York has the third pick.”

“But it’s possible to get good players below number three...”

The only real thing that the Lakers getting the 4th accomplished is that it forces Boston and New York to be that much more aggressive with bids.

let’s be rational and unbiased for a second

it’s the 4th pick in a 3 player draft
garland is at best Ben Gordon
Ingram for all his warts was coming in strong but he’s got a medical condition that ends careers
lonzo is a straight up stud on defense and he’s got great instincts but he can’t shoot, he can’t finish, and he’s got family baggage that makes the Kardashian’s embarrassed
Kuzma is found money...classic good stats on a shite team player

there is nothing there

Pretty much.

Even if a fourth or fifth option really presents itself past Barrett and appealed to us, the Knicks could easily draft that player instead of him.

Even with the 4th pick, I still just don't think their package measures up with NY or Boston. I feel like they really needed to get into the top 3 and have NY fall to 4 or 5. Would have given them another leg up if the Memphis pick conveyed this year. Unfortunately for them none of that happened.

Yep. Their big problem is that their players didn’t really have much appeal back in February and things have only gotten worse since then, mainly medically with regard to Ingram and Ball.

And another thing that fricked LA was Phoenix crapping out in the lottery, as it means that they can’t get a high quality asset for Ball since it would be about pick 5-7 in a less than stellar draft.

I can't say that's rational. There is literally no way only 3 good players come out of the draft. I can't say much on Garland, but I don't see Ben Gordon in his prime as much of a bad thing.

The rest of th stuff is fine by me.

The 4th pick is as valuable as a team who is willing to trade for it. Maybe some GM with something you REALLY like loves someone out of the top 4. His evaluation on that guy is far different than most and he will give up quality for it.

The Lakers package isn't about how much we like the guys. Or the pick. Its about how much value any of those assets have around the league. I would say the same for the Celtics package. Those packages have quantity and the entire question around them is whether some of that quantity can get you the quality you desire.

If the lakers flipped lonzo to PHX for say a top 6 protected 2020 first and someone like warren and another piece that would help their cause a lot

I don't disagree with much of that, but not sure the Knicks offer is much better if Ingram is given a clean bill of health.

Perhaps. I'd be curious to see a Zion/Ingram/Garland combo work it out over the next couple of years.

The Barrett stuff is interesting. Why is everyone so sure? What if Barrett is, at best, Harrison Barnes?

I’m not sure. I’m not a Barrett fan at all.
