re: Who do you want at 14?

I like Wallace too, but unsure of his path to playing time with CJ, Jose, Herb and Dyson as our 1’s and 2’s. He’d be our 5th guard. Vs someone like Lively (if available) being our 3rd or 4th Big. I know that’s the wrong way to think, but I still feel like I’d want a big or shooter at 14, vs another defensive first guard.

Yeah he’s [Miller] super raw and a bit of a boom or bust guy. The upside is there though, and I’m not sure anyone else available at 14 will have that kind of ceiling. Granted, several players floors are probably higher in that part of the draft
Other than Kris Murray, Miller would be my pick. He’s very slightly bigger (0.5” longer standing reach) and his vertical is also slightly better. His “stocks” were less than Murray’s and his 3pt shot hasn’t been as solid, but they’re not broken and he has a lot of tools.
Nnaji is interesting but is a down the board guy if the Pels picked up a second.
**Still like Kobe Brown a ton, I think he is being undervalued. Very efficient proven production and ball skills, with legit size (same standing reach as Miller plus like 40lbs).

People really are forgetting about how good Jose is.
He’s carved out a role out of necessity and is a fan favorite, but if he’s playing more than 15 per you aren’t serious about winning. He’s also 25 and his presence on the roster should never prevent another move
We need to stop settling and upgrade. Wallace brings size and versatility to pair with the other guards. Can guard multiple positions etc

He's small. No matter how good he is, he's going to get hunted down and abused in the playoffs. We've already seen some of that last season when teams went after him. He can be a spark plug but he's not going to hold up against bigger guards.

Wallace is a 6'3 jose which is an awesome player. Dude reminds me of jrue more than any prospect in recent memory
Posted on 6/22/23 at 1:40 pm to Balsamic_duck
Yeah and hes from kentucky. Their guards drafted in first round usually have turned out well.

I love Wallace but I just don’t see how WG plays him with his coaching philosophy. He’s going to be buried on the depth chart like Kira Lewis.

Day 1 Cason Wallace would garner more minutes than Alvarado and Kira
Kira yes, I don't view him as part of the rotation at this point and doubt he'll be on the team for game 1 of the season
Jose is a big leap, they both do different things well as a player but Jose has actually proven himself as a good NBA role player
I like Wallace and would be happy if we draft him but I certainly don't think it's a guarantee he plays >10 min a game

I agree with you there but maybe Borrego changes that?

Wallace is exactly the type of player that willie loves. Hard nosed defender that does all the little things well

Isnt that Dyson? He got no playing time.

Kira played 14 MPG as a rookie, hardly "buried". And then he tore his ACL and his effectiveness has been up and down since
Willie played Herb basically from day 1. He does defer to vets in a lot of cases but acting like there's no chance he'll play Wallace is silly

Warriors shopping Poole. Would you give warriors pick 14 to them and probably another guy to match salary? Im not a huge Poole guy plus that contract blows.
Posted on 6/22/23 at 2:11 pm to Pels_Yaz
Hell no. Poole is toxic and one dimensional on a bad contract
Posted on 6/22/23 at 2:12 pm to ghost2most
Agreed. Although that one dimension we desperately need on that team but I feel he got those looks because of the team he was on.

Wallace is the next Jrue Holiday.
And I’d take that in a heartbeat

Lol warriors got cp3
Which will have 1/10 the impact that getting off Poole's contract will imo.

well if he's not better than them, then sure he'd be the 5th guard.
if he's better than them, then maybe he'd be the #1 guard, or #2, or #3, or #4. You do realize that he is allowed to be better than our current players?
if Wallace is there at 14, id take him regardless of who else is on the board.
