Who told him this? And did he say for how long he's been cleared? Of course we have to take it with a grain of salt, but I think we heard the same thing during one of his injuries last year. If that's why the team is so secretive about his health status then that's extremely concerning.

BI said in an interview a week or two ago that he’s healed he just doesn’t have any confidence.

Hopefully this is not turning into a Kawhi/Ben Simmons type thing.

Yeah, I was 100% on board with not trading him this past offseason for anybody, including KD.

I’m slowly moving away from that and may even look to take offers this off-season on him.

It will either light a fire under him or he just shuts down completely, hard to say.

I just read an article by Clark also that said the Pelicans are getting frustrated with Ingram sitting out like this, especially when we have a multitude of guys trying to play through injuries. He mentioned Jonas who has played in all 43 games and refuses to take a night off even when the team tries to give him one.

He has to get on the court soon, or things may start to get ugly.

Wow. Hopefully that lights a fire in BI.

I hope that's wrong, otherwise it's bad sign

I do too, but it would make sense if the medical staff cleared him 2 weeks ago and he’s the one that’s refusing to practice or play.

I’ve always known BI wasn’t the type to play through injuries, but at this point if the medical staff cleared him weeks ago he has to be at 100%.

We all know if Zion is cleared by the staff he’s not sitting out even if he’s not 100%.

What is Ingram's relationship with Zion?

Could there be some resentment that the team had so much success when they went to Point Zion, which Ingram has stated he doesn't like?

I'd think if that was it, coming back to reassert himself when Zion got hurt would have been his move.

This whole thing is weird and frustrating.

If you want to go armchair psychologist focus on what we actually know. BI has said this is a confidence issue. He suffered a trauma and is afraid of suffering it again.

I know when ever I’ve been in a car accident I clench at every car coming at me in my rear view mirror for 3-4 weeks after. It’s just a natural reaction until you put enough miles in without getting hit again that your mind realizes the fear is unwarranted and goes away.

If anything mental is going on with BI it’s probably similar to that. He needs to use his big toe enough that his body no longer is afraid he’ll get injured again. It seems silly, but so does clenching in fear at cars in the rear view mirror.

Not sure if that actually makes me feel better or worse to be honest.

Yeah, he hasn’t shown a willingness to even try to go on it being he’s not even getting into practice.

But you still got back in the car and drove.

New years eve I was in a side by side accident where we hit a tree and I flew through the windshield and got a bad concussion, messed up my neck, hurt my back again (already have had two surgeries on it) and broke my big toe. So trauma and a toe injury I worked out 3 times last week and hope to be running by the end of the week. If it's what you're saying it is, he needs to be out on the court working on it if he's going to get over it right? Not sure I'd go as far to say B.I. is trauma. Mental, sure, but trauma, that seems like a stretch. It's not like he's coming off a torn acl.

I did not say that was the answer. I said if you're going to play armchair psychologist, this is a much more plausible path to go down that BI resents Zion.

But I do think the answer is him getting in enough reps to feel comfortable and the team needs to keep pushing him to do that. Eventually he'll shake it off and be ready, but he won't get there without putting in the work. It is discouraging that we haven't heard about him practicing yet, but encouraging that he is doing shoot around.

For Toni's previous injury earlier in the season when the Lakers were on a losing streak, the Lakers medical staff had cleared Toni to play. Reporters asked Lebron why Toni had not played, or even practiced. Lebron supported Street Clothes and said Toni shouldn't come back until he gets "his mind right first, then the body will follow." This sort of Laker pussification is pandemic across the league and is a glaring indictment of this soft generation.

It's only coincidence, but doesn't help that BI used to be a Laker as well.

And why is he being treated like some mythical being? What is his injury and when is the timeline for his return? It's not that freaking hard. Especially when its his damn toe. I had turf toe twice during my career. It's a painful injury but this is far beyond a reasonable timeline.

He gets paid a lot of money. People pay a lot of money to see him play. People invest a lot of hard earned money and personal time on this team. A little transparency isn't too much to ask. I don't need to read the MRI. I Don't need to read the team positions h&p. But some sort of clue on when We can expect a full fricking roster isn't too much to ask. You want me to pay $150 for a lower level seat? Give me the bare minimum information.

After watching Zion for the last couple of years (especially last season), can you blame him?
