He is in San Antonio, but you normally hear about the police reports before the team makes a decision. If it’s not criminal, did he sleep with the owner’s wife, or is he in debt to bookies and point shaving?

Immediate death penalty suggests whatever it is is a threat to the team if not dealt with swiftly.

Real GM has some claiming he was disrespectful to Pop.

Others are assuming whatever he did made him enough of a liability that no one will touch him.

No way that was it. Dude had to commit a crime to be cut like that. If it was just attitude issues, they would have traded him.

As far as I can tell, the waiving of Josh Primo sets a new record for the earliest any lottery pick has ever had their rookie scale contract terminated in NBA history, beating the previous record by Georgios Papagiannis (who at least made it to the trade deadline of year two).

seeing speculation online that the Spurs waited until after 5pm to release the statement, which is "coincidentally" the time Bexar county courts close and everything is sealed until Monday .

Just replying to people in general here, but Primo being waived has nothing to do with basketball. Still gathering details.

Spurs put out a statement saying they hope by waiving him it’s the best thing for Josh and for the organization. Definitely something internal

But they cut him so they probably don't care too much about covering up any potential criminal activity for a couple days.

His girlfriend’s IG account went private per Real GM.

People are suspecting a domestic violence incident but no evidence.

Since they signed him, maybe it was some weird and expensive courtesy so he can deal with mental health

NBA teams are bending over backwards to accommodate "mental health" issues. Nobody is cutting a 2nd yr lottery pick over that. The only remote possibility for that is if they had arranged for him to get treatment and he was blowing it off, but it's still hard to believe they'd pull the plug this early.

While I like Dyson, I really wanted Mathurin to drop two more spots to us.

Mathurin and Sharpe were my main preferences by draft time(was an early fan of Dyson though and do still like him)

And honestly, Sharpe was very hated the way I feel I got pushback when I preferred Garland in 19. And like that one, I think I’m proving correct again lol
