Simmons has been weirdly fixated on us for 20 years. Very strange. Never goes after other dogshit franchises for this like the Wizards or Kings, even when we have better attendance.
That being said, he's not entirely wrong and unless something changes here, we won't have a team when Gayle is gone

He’s definitely mentioned the Kings in the past until they got a new arena 10 years ago and a 35 year lease.
It’s not just him tho. Hart, DJM, JJ, Perk, Boogie have all said similar stuff. We’re directing our hate at the wrong people. I know you agree but there’s other people who get caught up in this us against them charade every couple years when it’s really us against Gayle.

The Simmons beef literally goes back to 2002. He is very weirdly fixated on this city and even does it with the Saints sometimes. He just doesn't like it here.
But there's also a shade of truth. This city has never fully embraced the team. Of course, how could they when they perpetually suck.
Unless we get an owner that goes all in on doing the right things to build a functioning, winning franchise, why should anyone care.

National Narratives have long been anti new orleans. There is a scary agenda out there. Some truths, some not truths, tons of exaggeration but it is an agenda at New Orleans unlike any other organization in the nba.

CP3/West/Chandler/Peja- good core but got broken up. Pargo misses a wide open corner 3 to tie the game (make or miss league)
Get Rewarded with AD after CP3. Jrue/Gordon/Evans/AD makes the playoffs but injuries ensue and AD is not the “Alpha” that was needed.
Trade for Boogie and get rondo.
Rondo/Jrue/AD/Boogie is a legit core that could have momentum to build but Boogie tears his Achilles and AD requests a trade before that next season.
AD is gone but you get to Zion. generational guy who brings hope. You get the AD package with Ingram. Lonzo/Ingram/Zion is very promising but of course injuries and immaturity plagues the core. (OKC traded PG and got back an MVP) we got Ingram. (Spurs, T wolves, Pistons get MVP candidates) we get Zion. Then you get to the last two years where you had Dejounte, CJ, Ingram, Herb, Trey, and Zion on the team and of course that doesn’t work out.
Long story short. The opportunities have been there. The luck has been garbage. Todd Graves or anybody who you want to be the owner doesn’t change that.

We have a lady that owns the team that and hate to be mean but doesn’t know anything about basketball. She probably knows Michael Jordan and a couple other famous players. We have absolute dog shite management team. I really hope Todd Graves buys the team. Give the fans something to watch. You were 26-56 last season and made 0 moves to get better. Why would we pack the SKC to watch this shite show?
