The guy has so much potential and has delivered some eye watering stats yet he's still not signed and hasn't stepped onto the floor in Summer League.

He needs a spot on the roster

He is signed, he's contract is just unguaranteed.

It seems like there is probably one more move before the season starts.

OK, so who are you having this discussion with? We do not have the information that the team and his agent has.

Between Favors, Jah, Jaxson, Zion, Melli he may not have much promise of time. Might be trying to get somewhere else

That is my assumption as well. We may be trying to find him a spot somewhere in a trade. Some team may need to unload salary (maybe even in an attempt to get Westbrook) and we can be a facilitator with Wood and Moore.

While he was a bright spot in the season post AD fiasco, we are now in the great position of having to pick which of the young promising guys to choose from.

Got to trust the guys that have turned this all around in Langdon and Griffin to make the right choices for our roster and team culture.

Who would you get rid of?

I think it might be time for some us to realize that guys like Wood/Hustle are fringe players that were able to put out a decent showing on a bad basketball team. We are so unfamiliar with quality depth that it seems like guys like this matter.

Thank them for their service and move on.

Is this that window of time where people convince themselves that Gravy Vasquez is the future because he put up stats on a bad team?

Wood is not part of this rebuild dude.

I'd keep Wood over Okafor

And we need to trade Moore to create a roster spot. We have a giant bottleneck of guards and Moore isn't in the future plans

Do we?

losing Okafor gives us 15, unless i'm missing something

Jrue Holiday
Derrick Favors
J.J. Redick
Zion Williamson
Lonzo Ball
E'Twaun Moore
Brandon Ingram
Darius Miller
Jaxson Hayes
Nickeil Alexander-Walker
Josh Hart
Jahlil Okafor
Christian Wood
Frank Jackson
Kenrich Williams
Nicolo Melli

Trading E'Twaun would create space for us, but he'll probably fetch better value at the deadline, and there's also that tiny fact that he shoots 40% from 3....

I'm thinking Okafor. Hayes may not be ready yet to guard the monster centers in the league, but if he can add a few more pounds, he won't be a disaster against them, and his offensive potential makes up for it.

I'd rather Hayes take his lumps and learn than give minutes to Okafor.

That type of player could potentially fetch a good bit at the trade. Seems like a contender could overpay and we can continue to build.

Could we get a late first for Moore?

Favors only fetched a couple of seconds, I'd expect Moore wouldn't get more than that

The most reasonable explanation is they are looking to move him in a package deal, probably with Moore. It was 3 days ago we heard they were "working on a solution" with Wood. If they were just looking to move him or cut him by himself, something would have happened by now.

He needs a spot on the roster

The way they said "solution" I think Wood wants to go somewhere he'll have more opportunity instead of being our 5th big.

Rich people problems

We have gone from having to trade players nobody wants like Asik or packaging expiring garbage like Solomon Hill....

To actually having a deep roster of talent where we have to decide who to keep and who we have the luxury of trading, cause they we have trade pieces with real value, like Wood or Williams or Moore.

Just imagine when we get like Utah - where we have to dump a player like Favors cause we are just that rich.

These are the problems of success

Just depends on how desperate a team is. He could also be packaged with someone else for a trade. Having a decent sized expiring is a great asset at the deadline.

Another guy who is getting terrible advice from his advisors. All he talked about was just wanting an opportunity, yet he’s sitting out nationally televised games over his contract. He could be playing 25 mpg in the summer league right now boosting his value, but instead he’s a healthy scratch

Are you sure it's his idea to sit out?
