You're alone with this opinion. It's such a ridiculous system with trying to watch local sports for NBA. It's not available on Cox, who is the main local cable provider. You have to have a specific provider(I think at&t and/or Directv) which isn't even available to most, AND upgrade to there sports package.

You are wrong with so many things, but I will just pick a couple.

1. He is not alone in his position, since the name change from fox sports to Bally the service has been great, especially the new app. The video quality is much better and consistent now.

2. Cox has Bally sports and I don't have a sports package, just the lowest level of cable offered with my internet bundle.

It is 100% available on Cox Communications. Channel 1038 in the BR market.

I am very sorry if I was wrong. I called those idiots at Cox when I moved to a new place a few months ago and was told they don't carry Pelicans games. I guess that's the service you get when you pay somone $10/hr

Also to add, Bally Sports/Sinclair is working on a direct streaming option. Thats is why they aren’t making deals with Youtube Tv/Sling/ etc.

LINK

You would be able to buy this to watch your teams without cable.

Would be nice to have options, but $200 dollars a year to watch the pels doesn't really get me excited. I think I'd rather continue to stream for free

I would pay $225 to watch every Pels game without much thought.

Does tv contact revenue go to the team or is it lumped together across the league and redistributed?

There’s so many ways to watch every game man.

I believe each team keeps their own contract money.

Could be wrong on that, hut it's why the big market teams like Warriors bring in so much revenue and can afford to pay 100 million plus in the tax year in and year out.

I can watch nearly every Pels game living in Kansas City. Whenever I go home to visit my family, I can't watch any games because Bally sports isn't on EATEL (and a lot of other providers). That's a problem and something that makes zero sense.

This is just completely unacceptable for a team that is desperate to grow its fanbase. If you are trying to pull in new people, how many of those who could be curious are going to go out and pay for a separate subscription to check out the team? You might be willing to do it, but your average Saints fan who is looking for something to do after football season isn't likely to jump through those hoops.

When you are a small market, it's vital to have your product in front of people in as many ways as possible.

Yeah, all things being equal, you'd like the games to be on a local broadcast station like Fox 8 or WWL.

Am told an NBC Sports Regional Networks exec is at tonight’s game with several New Orleans team execs.

Pelicans are exploring all options once their current local TV deal with Sinclair concludes. NBC is a potential partner. LINK

That would get me to pay for Premium Peacock. I just googled a few articles though and it looks like they don't know what they're going to do. They had planned to test it with baseball in Philadelphia last spring but were worried about the usual things like cannibalization of the cable market, and they are owned by Comcast.

So cord cutters that didn't want to pay $80 a month for other TV they don't need would still be in the same boat.
