Well, if there isn't a Pelican in the festivities, I am not watching.

Great job Trey, and great job Jose.

Pelicans can be proud!!

They did HORSE like 15 years ago and it was pretty terrible. Also had the HORSE competition during the height of covid which was extremely terrible.

Amazing Performance by Trey glad he did try anything wild like jumping over some dude since he is a actually NBA player getting minutes.

NBA just needs to invite internet dunkers and let the stars react to them. Jordan Kilganon would be like a 7 time winner already lol

Trey has made some nice in-game dunks, but I did not know Trey had all that in his bag. I’m very impressed.

Way to represent, TM25!

I think that would be fun. NBA vs street players but you’d have to have NBA stars dunk against them. I doubt the NBA would do that because they wouldn’t want to be showed up. I personally think it would be interesting to see it.

Great showing by Trey, I do think Mac was a bit better.

I think Trey has way more than what he showed us. That tomhaawk windmill, he could have done 3 more dunks equally impressive I'd bet but just came a tad short on 2 of the 4.

But still, great showing.

You exactly right, the professional dunkers would do some crazy stuff and the NBA players would get shown up so they would never do it.

I'm just proud of Trey performance, when it was announced he was in the dunk contest I had flashbacks the last time a Pel/Hornet was in the dunk contest with Birdman horrible performance that gave me nightmares as a kid. Way to rep Trey.

Trey balled. Nothing to be ashamed of. Right 2 guys in the finals and the right guy probably won.

But Trey did great and the Jose Alvarado bit was great. That Jose involvement was exactly what I was hoping for.

It would’ve been cool if Zion agreed to be part of Trey’s performance as well, but all in all, can’t complain.

Malone fricked TMIII over twice, I thought Trey was too old for his taste...

Still, Trey would have won the last few dunk contests with his performance tonight. IDC if they have an instagram dunk contest, but tonight TMIII was the best legitimate NBA dunker that participated.

I thought Karl Malone was the most accurate scorer overall.

Everyone else was scoring wayyyy too high.

I think Malone probably would’ve been fine if he flip flopped his last 2 scores for Trey

The 46 was kind of weird. The 48 felt like a makeup score on the last dunk.

Super cool that Trey lost to a guy that hasn't even played one NBA minute and was solely promoted so they could play in the dunk contest.

They fricked up the pregame intro and had Trey Murphy's name graphic on top of Kenyon Martin when they announced him. Basically, Kenyon Martin got shown twice and Trey never.

It really is kind of fricked up to have to compete against an exhibition dunker. Trigga won against the actual NBA players.

He still would have been in the dunk contest.

He was announced before he had a team. There was a G League player in the skills competition as well.

I think some people are understandably crying foul because Trey was competing. There’s a bigger picture here though. The GLeague is starting to compete head to head with the NCAA for players. They’ve already shown you can go to the GLeague and be a top 10 pick. Now the GLeague can also tout sharing the stage at All Star weekend.

Maybe, but there is no correlation between what you're saying and Mac McClung being in the dunk contest.

Dude is your typical 4-year college guy who wants to keep the dream alive by playing in the G-League. He has no real NBA future, just is a really good dunker.

ETA: They tried this exact same thing with James White in 2013 where the Knicks called him up from the G-League like a week before the dunk contest so he could be in the contest. Only difference is that the lights were too bright for him compared to McClung.
