I'm not convinced the Graham move was a sign that ownership is cheap (yet), but it isn't the best look. On a day where every other competitor in the west made at least one move to shore up a weakness, we made one to cut costs for next year. It isn't a death blow, there is still time to improve the roster. We still have the famed war chest. But today was not encouraging. I think it is okay for people to be a little frustrated.

This, summed up pretty perfectly my thoughts.

Would the people that are upset be happy if we traded Trey, dyson and 3 1sts for OG? Reports are coming out that masai was asking for the moon. Bridges and claxton werent getting moved. Durant was never going to come here. Theres no reason to make a move just for the sake of making a move. The lakers made moves and got better because they are desperate. The Nuggs, Grizz, and kings either made marginal moves or no moves and they're all top 4 teams. Its ok to sit tight

Maybe we didn’t make any major moves because we already have one of the deepest young talented rosters. Yeah another shooter would have helped (and Richardson seems cool) but We’re just waiting on Dyson and Zion to come back.

The only move we needed and didn't make was rim protection. Don't think there were very many options out there worth burning assets for.

Meh, dudes like Kennard and Vanderbilt went for dirt cheap and would have been helpful for us.

Kennard plays no defense, he just shoots.

Vanderbilt ill agree with, but apparently we weren’t interested in him because maybe we don’t want to interrupt our big rotation?

Exactly. Two needs: shooter off the bench with size to replace Graham; active, switchable big that could rim protect to replace Jaxon. Among the good options that got moved for cheap today: Vanderbilt, Beasley, Muscala, Plumlee, Bamba, Kennard, Bryant, Bey.

Richardson slight upgrade on Graham given he can defend bigger guards and wings some, but we gave up 4 2nd rounders to get him with better options out there…

If it was my guess, they didn't want to give up a protected top 4 pick for a Beasley rental and they didn't feel Vanderbilt was a long-term acquisition even if he provided what we can really use this season.

And that concludes me sticking up for the Pels media bros I usually like to bash on here.

I'm done with Shamit though. Dude at times seems like he legitimately doesn't like the team and most of it's players at times. Dude is always throwing shade on BI and puts him in every trade and calling fans who wouldn't move him stupid. He can go F himself. He always chalks his hate on the GM and players as a "he just wants what's best for the team" when in reality he just thinks he's smarter than everyone.

Not saying this is wrong but it would be interesting since the team seems to just not trust Val at all. Even matchups that may favor him, if he doesn't start out playing really well, he's sitting down the stretch.

I understand the concerns, but I'm a Jval fan, he has value for us. But if the staff doesn't trust him, it would have been nice if we could have found him a new home before the deadline or if not, this offseason.

I take it this way,
OG Anunoby
Gary Trent Jr
John Collins

Their asking price is WAY too high.

Now that move clears up a roster spot next year and gets you out of the tax for no reason.

You still can do S&T and use $ to make a play, but if you're just trading to trade you lose every time.

Of the group, he is definitely the worst offender in the "I think I know more than everyone else" camp.

He's just another in a long line of amateur bloggers whose head has gotten too big. He thinks he knows more than the executives who get paid millions and have done if for years. He is no expert, just a fan like the rest of us.

Who is the main guy, Justin something or other...what's that dude do for a living?

He looks pretty young and seems to have prime floor season tickets. Not a bad gig.

I said this in another thread but everyone is pointing to us dumping a worthless graham contract for a slight upgrade that also saved 15m but ignore that we just traded for CJ and Nance and gave them $85m worth of extensions. There clearly wasn’t a big move to make that was reasonable. Almost none of the guys we were rumored with got moved. OG, Bojan, Collins, Trent are all still in the same place.
