I don’t think it was a coincidence that Hayes, Graham, Temple, and Billy were all out last night.

Bones would be interesting for us. Young player that has shown some ability. Its not like he's lit the world on fire from 3 but he's been pretty good.
As an interesting Devonte/Kira replacement I would be on board.
No idea the acquisition cost. I imagine the Nuggets want a protected pick plus (small) salary match.

He's only 24 and they have a ton of cap space. He's definitely young enough to be apart of their rebuild

They have cap space and don’t need his bird rights. Not to say they wouldn’t be interested in getting and keeping him.

Raptors don’t have a lot of use for Poetel if they are doing a rebuild.

Trent is only 24 but he’s been in a league for a minute and has already shown he can contribute for good/playoff teams, so would he want to be a part of a rebuild or go play for a team where he can win? He’ll have a solid market in free agency.
Trent is also redundant with Devin Vassell, who is younger and already a 20 PPG scorer. And he will positively impact the Spurs on the court during the 2nd half of the season, which they absolutely don’t want. There are 3 other trash can level teams who will probably also be shamelessly tanking in the 2H. Can’t have Trent shooting you out of the best possible odds for Wemby/Scoot.
I don’t think Trent makes sense for San Antonio. They’d likely flip him for more assets.

No, but maybe if they are insisting on Nic Claxton in a Siakam to the Nets trade they need to send a legit center back to the Nets to make it happen.

It’s not a rebuild unless they deal Siakam and Barnes. More of a season to retool, similar to what Portland tried when they gave us CJ and Nance

Except they seem to be heading all in on a rebuild given the offers they are trying to get on OG and others.
Anyone not Scottie Barnes has been available for a while now.

When I say rebuild, I mean a multi-year process where they tear everything down to the studs. Keeping a 28 year old All-NBA player like Siakam is not that. I’ll change my mind on the rebuild if they do that.
Seeing if you can sell a non-all star like OG for all-star prices does not mean they are going all in on a rebuild. Same with dangling expiring contracts like Trent and FVV, who will probably get overpaid in the offseason. That’s just good business when you’re 25-30

quote:Maybe, but they are already a virtual lock at being in the bottom 4. If they really like Trent, not sure why that would be the mindset. It could be, as you said, they just want to reroute him to get something for Poeltl.

I've been playing around with the scatter plot and some other applications on that website to compare Bones Hyland to some other guys we currently have on the roster, and even some guys like Jrue or Dillon Brooks.
The thing I've found, take Jrue for example, he does it all. Rates among the league best on ball, off ball, playing the passing lanes, creating on ball turnovers, defensive versatility, you name it. Brooks is amongst the league best in all of that except the turnover aspect, where he's just about average.
Bones actually shows pretty solidly on-ball and playing the passing lanes. His numbers actually equate pretty similarly to Naji in terms of on-ball defense. The thing that separates Naji is he's very good defending off ball movement and he's in the 97th percentile in "defensive versatility" which means he can defend multiple positions. Bones is awful off-ball though, doesn't create on ball turnovers, and doesn't offer as much switchability as the others I've mentioned.
The funny thing is the program labels each player with a "defensive role" and it shows Jrue and Brooks as point of attack defenders, and Naji as a wing stopper. It shows Graham and Bones as "low activity"

Jake seems to think John Collins might be the guy we go get

I hope to God Jake is truly the fraud that we think he is. I would hate John Collins on this team for what we’d have to give up

Dylan Brooks is extremely annoying.
