If the rumors of Miami offering a first to get off his deal are true, then I would see if Spurs would take the 1st to use their cap space and everyone could be happy.
Clips: Lowry, Billy
Heat: Reggie Jackson, Hayes
Spurs: Graham, 1st from Heat
Pels: Kennard
Miami gets out of the tax this year and creates a 10 million dollar TPE and allows them to re-sign their young guys next season.
Clips get off Kennards salary and get a guy they can convince themsleves would help them win a championship, also get a backup big for Zubac.
Spurs get a 1st to use their cap space.
Pels get a shooter in Kennard, create a 6.8 million and 2.2 million TPE, open up 2 roster spots and get 9 million below the tax line while still having our MLE to use in the buyout market. Also Kennard gives us an expiring 15.5 million contract next year we could flip for bigger piece
Call it in griff

I might stop watching the team if we got Simmons. Never ever could I root for that dude.

The main issue I have with that is the lack of big men we will have after that trade.

We would have a TPE large enough to absorb a Vanderbilt, or plenty of room under the tax to throw big money at a buyout candidate

I like that for us but I bet someone asks us to add more value.
At most i could see us having to add a couple 2nds, maybe to Miami, but IMO i think its a pretty balanced trade since Miami gets a young prospect in Jax to see if they can do anything with, and Clips get a backup big for Zubac that theyve been searching for.

This is the first trade I've seen that I haven't had to talk myself into some aspect of it. The main question is do the other teams like those players enough to make this happen. You have 2 roster spots to add bigs through the buyout market. Tristan Thompson and Dwight come to mind. If he isn't traded, Keven Love will probably get bought out too.

The only if here i could think of is of LA thinks pairing Lowry back with Kawhi helps their chances. He’s definitely an upgrade to Reggie at this point, and absolute worst case for them they have Lowry as a huge expiring next year to try to chase a 3rd star to pair with KL and PG. They also have a good backup big on a minimum deal for next year to.
Reggie would just be a buyout candidate for Miami, their big reason for doing it is opening up money under the tax to re-sign Strus and Gabe next year.

What is Danny Ainge going to do with all of these draft picks he's collecting? He never pulled the trigger on a star trade in Boston because no stars wanted to stay there. They aren't going to want to stay in Utah either.

The Lakers have been adamant all along about now moving both 1sts but they're discussing moving both 1sts for Conley and Beasley?

The Lakers trading those two picks to turn Westbrook into Conley would be so awesome lol

He probably keeps moving them around to draft the guys he wants.
This is a guy who offered four firsts for Justice Winslow when he thought he was the missing piece for the team.

Yeah, I thought that was crazy too. I wonder if LeBron is threatening to sit if a trade isn't made and Buss needs that playoff revenue like Shinn did.

quote:Heck, what is he losing in that trade though? He gets off of Conley's $25 million in 2024 when he really does not fit their trajectory. I think it would be a good move for them. Westbrook probably gets bought out and goes to the Nets with KD.

I was playing on the trade machine and a mix of Westbrook and picks for Conley, Beasley, and Olynyk works.
That helps them clear the board for this offseason while still letting other decent pieces (Jordon Clarkson, etc) be dangled in further trades.

I thought Hield and Turner for two 1sts was a bad trade. Conley and Beasley? LMFAO

Just seen Shams said to watch for Lowry to Clips

They thought they would get a better offer as teams fell out of contention.
Yeah, no.
Instead, a ton of teams remain in contention including the Pacers, who extended Turner.
