I would look at getting KD
The issue comes in where they have Simmons who would have to be moved because they cant have both Ingram and Simmons

I would say, probably the ultimate frick you Kyrie could do to KD, who has stuck by him despite all his toxic bullshite, is if ultimately he gets to LA and Westbrook comes back and they can't find a landing spot for KD.

Even if we agreed on a KD deal, I don't think Brooklyn would be able to dump Simmons. He seems to be floating in Rick Ankiel/Chuck Knoblauch territory, mentally.

More than likely Brooklyn will just ride it out. I doubt they get a deal they are looking for.

Well one thing they could do is trade KD for a shitload of picks and bad salary, and just tank for 2 years until they can get rid of Ben.
Something like Ingram to Charlotte, Hayward and picks to Nets from Charlotte and picks to Nets from Pels.
They could do that and get 5-6 1st rounders quick

I do wonder if team's offers will look different, 50 games in. Are teams more, or less, willing to make huge offers now?
I don't think we'd trade for KD. But you have to believe we think about it a little harder now than we would have in the offseason, coming off of how BI played in that playoff series.

I have to question if the Lakers would even trade for Kyrie at this point. I know LeBron would, but if Pelinka/Buss think they can get him for free as a FA in the summer, why give up 27/29 and pick swaps which is what it would take for the Nets to even think about it. They've taken that approach in the past with multiple start players...who ended up not coming. Still, waiting for others to come and make them great is what they do.
From the Nets side, unless the Lakers put it all on the table, and/or Kyrie is planning to sit out the rest of the season, which is certainly a possibility with him, then the best course for the Nets is to do nothing and try to win a ring this year.

Simmons and BI can be on Nets. Ingram was not technically a rookie max extension. Technicality of us waiting for his contract to expire. At least that is how I understand it.

I think the Lakers would have to trade for Irving, even this summer, just for payroll reasons. Westbrook expires, but they don't get all that space since they are a tax team. Lakers have to trade Westbrook to maximize their space. That's why I never got holding onto the picks, if they want the most cap space.

I could see the Nets eventually settling for something like Irving and Harris for Westbrook and Beverly and unprotected 2027 1st rounder and a 2nd. Would get them off of Harris and salvage a 1st rounder.

The first is Brandon Ingram. While he did indeed sign a five-year extension with the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2020 offseason, he did so as a restricted free agent with Bird Rights. That did not invoke the Designated Rookie rule, so Ingram can be traded to the Nets.
