If we make a trade I think it comes out of nowhere.

I still just cannot see us trading for OG. The amount it will take will be insane, and while he's a really good player, he doesn't do anything of the things we are really missing.

"...I think the league thought more teams would clearly be out on the playoffs at this time. That's not the case... There aren't a lot of teams making the decision that the season is lost. If 22 of the 30 teams in the league are all wanting to get better, it doesn't make for a lot of trading partners."

Bob Myers, Warriors GM.

Seems like there’s might be an overpay for guys we want.

Still comes down to “what do we need” and “how do we replace what goes out?”

My preferred trade is to get Jakob Poetel and either McBuckets or Josh Richardson from the Spurs but their asking price is too high.

What other centers are out there who are good rebounders, not a complete offensive liability, and not on a max or near max deal?

Problem is finding one who can come in and willing to either split time with JV or can start but not have the offense run through them, as Zion and BI are the main options.

I think it would be a poor use of assets to blow it all on OG. We have more pressing needs than what he provides. blow it all on him and you probably dont have enough left over to trade if a star you want becomes available

It only takes one team to either overpay for someone or to accept a lower offer because the deadline is coming up.

They can ask for the moon but, if these guys are expiring, they risk getting Jack shite if they are still there after the deadline.

One question with Reid though is, is he good enough to let you move JV? He’s not going to be a 2nd post scorer drawing doubles like JV, but he can score well enough. He’s also a little lighter on rebounding than I’d like. But he seems like he has the potential to be like a younger Myles Turner with lower acquisition cost.

He is nowhere near the shot blocker Turner is. His defense is pretty bad. Not sure he can take JVs spot.

Jarred Vanderbilt
Chris Boucher
Naz Reid
Mason Plumlee (surprisingly doing well)
James wiseman (Willie prob won’t play him)
Isaiah Hartenstein (was a beast in LAC)

Wiseman is a major project. He could work for us but his defensive lapses are why he is in the G League and having a lot of trouble there.

Vanderbilt would be wonderful but the cost would probably be insane.

I think Blazerd offered that. They say he can be traded for a late first or couple second rounders.

But it seems we are more focused on Beasley/Anuoby/Collins right now

If we could get Vanderbilt for a couple 2nds, you do that yesterday.

That I would be willing to do, but we may have to find another first from somewhere to make it work.

Our own for this year is tied to the Lakers’ pick and the 2025 picks are potentially a “double draft” if one and done goes away. All of those hold a lot of value as a result.

I'd definitely target Hartenstein.
Knicks don't play him and I think they take Temple, Jax and a 2nd to get him off their books.

Then you can use JV, Graham and some future firsts to get one of or a combination of OG, Trent Jr, Beasly, Bojan or Burks.

Every fanbase does this, including ours, but this is the OG to NOLA discussion on Raptors reddit:

The one I've seen on the Raps sub that I liked is 3 of: Daniels/Murphy/LAL 2023/NOL 2023. Graham would need to be included as ballast.

I don't like OG. Klutch, meh shooter, pass.

His shooting is on the same level as Murphy’s.

And yeah, Raptor fans are delusional as to the return they will get. They will get contracts and 2-3 1sts at most. Most of them seem to think they will get 2-3 young players along with multiple 1sts.

Minnesota really fricked up the trade market

Not really. About 2-3 percentage points lower. I don't see him as a fit financially for this team.

Trey is a much better shooter. OG is a good shooter, but he's not a great shooter

It’s so bad that I rather have Kessler than Gobert honestly.
