I agree. The consensus on the board, and with the bloggers, was that you needed to pay jrue to appease cousins. I don't know counsins' thinking, but, if it was me, I'd rather sign long term with a team with AD and a shite ton of cap space than one with jrue

18 pts in the second quarter. 13 of which came in the last 4 minutes. Our bench is awful. The starters will have to all play 42+ minutes every single night.

No one on this site (or any site) said that Jrue was worth what he got paid. About 10 people have said that in this thread and they're arguing with no one. It's the sports equivalent to virtue signaling.
But don't forget our cap situation. It was either sign Jrue, or sign an MLE player. I promise you that Jrue will have a better season than any player we would have gotten with the MLE. I get that signing him cost us flexibility, but we didn't have time to play the long game with the Boogie trade.
I get that people are frustrated with Jrue. I am more than anyone since I was hardcore on his bandwagon. But people are focusing a bit too much on how he finished last season. He struggled getting used to Cousins, suddenly becoming incapable of even handling the ball without making fans hold their breath. All offseason he was asked to start playing a different position, then within the last week asked to go back to semi-running the offense. But I still remember him having long stretches of being fringe All-Star caliber with the Pels. I know he's not worth what he's paid, but I'm going to give him some time before I completely throw him under the bus.

The negapels are focusing on the wrong things. This is Memphis at Memphis so the refs let them mug you all night. AD/DC have 6 more points each from FTs against most other teams. What I'm seeing that I like is the defense and all of the hustle plays. The offense will be fine, especially once Rondo comes back.
