Want nothing more for him to get canned before the deadline, but Boogie loves him and would probably resign if he is the coach next year.

It’s amazing how often message boards change the direction of a franchise.

He wouldn't be the reason they go. There's no hints that either Davis or Boogie dislike him or be a reason for them to leave.

No disrespect, just an honest question. But how big of a basketball fan are you? I just don't see how anybody could think this would be the best guy for the job. He recruits well, but there's nothing that jumps out that he would be the right fit for an NBA team. Or even think an above .500 team is going to fire their coach before the end of the year. The Cavs did it, but obviously it was Lebron making that decision.

Your post makes it sounds like an argument a 16 year old kid would make.

Popavich or Stevens could come in here and we'd still be screwed.

Coaching is an issue, but talent matters in the NBA when it comes down to the playoffs.

Have to disagree with that. I'm not a Gentry fan but I understand calling for his head is a waste of breath.

But the talent is there. We're one of the few teams in the league with two top 12 or so player in all of basketball. Add that to Jrue who, imo, is extremely underrated & Rondo, and we have a legit starting lineup. And Moore has been playing great too. Obviously you know who the starter are

But to me, the talent is top 5 seed worthy. The only way we will do anything, is strictly based on talent. I think the best the fan base can hope for is for something to just click. Maybe that takes a little more time with Rondo running things and Jrue getting into shooting guard mode. The head coach isn't getting us anywear, it's almost like the team is going to just have to figure it out on its own, because talent is the only thing we got going for us.

Get us a legit 3 and D wing that can board, like a Demarre Carroll, and I would agree this could be a legit top 5 seed.

It is the one cog missing that is crucial for this machine to really find its stride. Moore is not ideal, Hill will kill our spacing with Rondo and Jrue, Miller lacks the defense and isn’t polished enough with his fundamentals. We need that guy in the middle that can guard up and down and play in multiple rotations. Can step out and hit the three so as to not clog the floor.

Barring that I think our upper limit is the 6th seed unless these other teams start to collapse.

It’s the story of the Demps era, but we are always missing one or two of those critical pieces to make it all work ideally.

Most, if not all teams in the top 5 at least have their bases covered on all 5 positions. They are in the “wouldn’t it be nice to upgrade this position” stage. We are still in the “man, wouldn’t it be nice to just have someone capable of starting at this position so we aren’t asking players to stretch beyond their limits to cover up total position deficiency.”

We are literally running a shooting guard at the small forward position because we have no one else.

They have someone else. He is injured.

If any of Minnesota's 5 starters, they would have "no one else" too.

Nice to see you are in such a chipper mood this Christmas afternoon.

Someone else that kills our spacing and is not a good fit for what that unit needs. That’s abscence forces us into the precarious situation we are stuck in.

Like I said, missing cog. The poster asserted we could be in the top 5, I said we are missing a crucial piece to make that next step. Do you disagree?

I never said he'd be the reason they go bc they don't like him.

He will be the reason they go bc the team isn't winning. And that's because we hired a retard named Alvin Gentry.

The Gentry hire was worse than the Ed O hire

To be honest, this team is probably a 8-10 game streak or a couple of 5 game streaks from a 50 win team. As long as they take advantage the lighter parts of the schedule, 50 wins could be possible.

I think the offense is getting there. All we need now is for the turnovers to be managed. There's some time to correct this. I think March will be a good barometer on where this roster is and what they can do in May.

It's definitely helping that the Western teams aren't pulling away and after the 8th seed, there's a big drops off.
