Time to move on from BI, Jonas, Naji, and either Dyson or Herb

This is a 3 point shooting league and we’re the worst shooting team in it.
Surround Zion with snipers.
I’d love to get rid of CJ too but that stupid fricking extension fricks us.
Jose, Trey, Zion, Nance and either Herb or Dyson stay.
The rest are either too slow or redundant. Idgaf about Kira one way or the other.

Jose is a good enough shooter and he’s good at other stuff to make up for being an average shooter

The best teams ALL have 1) a TRUE point guard who can get to the rack or hit the open jumper.
We do NOT have that.
Instead, we thought CJ, a pure SHOOTING GUARD, would be fine with the ball in his hands. That may be true with Zion on the floor, but without him, you gotta have that true pg.
GO GET A LEGIT PG who can control the game, distribute the rock, and bust that open jumper and/or get to the rack and all will be well.

Get rid of the guy shooting nearly 40% from 3, who can creat his own shot, and score at all 3 levels? That makes a lot of sense.
Get rid of the guy who is a career 40% 3 point shooter averaging a career high in assists this year? That makes as much sense.
Jonas can go. Naji can be upgraded. Dyson and Herb are both young and cheap and should both stay.
BI, Zion, CJ, and Trey is your core. Herb, Dyson, Larry, and Jose are should all stay, but if an offer is good let them go. Everyone else needs to be gutted for shooters.

I largely agree with that assessment
Though I’m honestly open with moving some of Herb/Larry/Dyson/Jose in the right deal.
It’s just really hard to contrast a core of three guys that play so much inside the arc with guys that can’t score outside it in today’s game.

If BI doesn't change his shot profile and balance it with 7-9 threes a game, we'll never go far with him as a top option in the backcourt.

I wonder how it will work with Herb or Dyson daniels at the PG position to facilitate the offense. They can't shoot worth a lick, but they have great vision to pass it to the right guy.

That's a scary thought. If neither Dyson or Herb becomes a strong deep threat, it'll be very hard to play those guys together.
My biggest fear right now is we'll go into next season with Dyson being Kira-ed and he just doesn't have an opportunity to develop his offensive game and play through his mistakes.
If we finish the season in the lottery and draft another young rookie, are the young guys going to be cast aside with a short leash while Willie is coaching to save his job and lean on his vets?
