Not only that, but what do you think the NBA will do if we start cutting back on Zion/Trey's minutes when they're clearly getting healthier?
Based on the bullshite the Jazz is doing, I don’t think the NBA would care.

And I've said it before, but a lot of you simply don't understand the concept of pride. These people have all worked their asses off to get where they are. They are playing/coaching for both their reputations and careers ($).
Yeah, I don't think anyone here (well anyone with a functioning brain), expects any of the players to lay down and not put out effort. Having said that, winning games right now is counter-productive to the best interests of this franchise. Period. Pels life this year, such fun.

I do understand that both times we got the number 1 pick, we had some unfortunate wins down the stretch
I’m just tired of this particular group. They were supposed to improve off of a 49 win campaign. They didn’t take the season seriously and now they are winning games for no reason.
Where was the damn pride 4 months ago? Where was it in offseason preparation? Hell, where was this the past 6 years from Zion, specifically?
This is how franchises get stuck. You stick with the wrong core and get middling draft picks that can’t really change the trajectory of the core. We have turned into the 2010’s and 2020’s Sacramento Kings. A meaningless team with no future hopes or aspirations and no clear path to get anywhere.

I called Zion triple double in the 1st quarter and Pels W going into the 4th Q. On point as usual when it comes to our king Z.

I assume we are just trying to build his rep back up to the point we can get more than 50 cents on the dollar when we eventually trade him. I'm not optimistic on getting anything above that 50 cents...
Zion has convinced me on what his ceiling is...and more importantly...I think he has pretty much convinced any other team that might have been interested in acquiring him...on just how low that ceiling is.

That was your takeaway from a 27 point triple double in 31 minutes? Think with your brain and not your heart. His ceiling is higher than anyone in the league besides maybe ANT. If he were to add the 3 to his game...

OK...he has the highest or 2nd highest ceiling in the NBA...and that obviously explains why everybody is beating down our door...to try and trade for him.

You don’t trade players of Zion’s caliber. (Unless your name is Nico) you add Herb back and a top 5 lottery pick. There’s nothing that could have been done to salvage this season, we went in with Theis as our 5 and basically every single starter got hurt. We are in a good spot going into next season.

If Zion were available for trade 29 teams would be immediately calling. They’re calling and he’s not even available.

We shot 47 3’s last night. It’s nice to have a big go 3/7 from 3. Trey and CJ combined for 22 3fga. It is pleasant to see this team play that way.

6 years in and he doesn’t even shoot them much less make them. Still waiting.
He still can’t dribble. He dribbled it off his foot twice last night in the closing minutes.

The Pelicans situation is better than the other bottom dwellers in the NBA. We are a playoff team when healthy.
Hopefully, we can pull off what the Spurs did when that got Tim Duncan. The Spurs that year were a playoff team but due to injuries they sucked and got the 1st pick (Tim Duncan).
Unless somebody offers an incredible trade, I would run it back with Zion and roll the dice that he really has matured. It appears that he has, but the big test will be the off-season and health in the beg of next season.

They also let Karlo get up 7 3PAs which is awesome. I love Karlo in the starting lineup with Missi. Takes rebounding pressure off Zion

People will come around to understanding why ZIon is better in the backcourt.
This will be a permanent configuration if we land Flagg or Bailey.

I remember being in a heated discussion with pelsyaz (rip) about whether or not he would contribute at all as a rookie. No surprise, I was right.

Is this a bit, or are you really like this in real life? Truly insufferable.

Losing 2 of your 5 starters to season ending injuries is not taking the season seriously?
The whole fricking team sans Zion took the start of this season seriously. It was lost to catastrophic injury.

Murray is gonna be out most of next year. Zion is gonna have to play point guard a lot.
I’m very intrigued to see a lineup of Zion herb trey Karlo Missi.
If we land flag or Bailey you could run Karlo at center to put even more shooting around Zion

If Dejaunte didnt have something catastrophic happen to him, I could have seen a world where this is our starting 5:
Naz Reid
Flagg/Bailey
Trey
Zion
DJM
But the 2 guard spots are really just ways to weave Point Zion in.
That 5 can play 5 out or use Zion or Murray to dive in PnR situations. Hell even Flagg/Bailey would have gravitational pull. Zion and Murray would literally see 2 guys max or Naz Reid will wind up shooting a lot of 3's (which he's pretty damn good at).
Edit: To follow up we could still even play our bench in the same config
Missi
Karlo
Boston
CJ
thats a pretty solid 9 man rotation that should win you games.

The first "if" to make Zion a better player would be...IF he were to add a 10' jumper to his game. I'm not optimistic he can even do THIS.
"IF...he were to add the 3 to his game..." is a silly discussion to EVEN have...it ain't happenin' folks...let's move on to something that's actually a possibility... if we're talkin' about Zion's "ceiling".

If he fixes his free throw shooting he can be a 30/5/7 guy
