quote:So are you saying you do not understand that there are 2 sides to a game? Are you completely ignoring his defensive skills? Do you realize why Hawkins cannot get on the court? Herb does not take a lot of shots. He took less than 1 shot more a game than Hawkins in nearly double the minutes. Yet Hawkins averaged 8 pts and 2 rebounds a game on a much lower shooting percentage (both overall and 3 point). How does their defense compare?
The fact you mentioned offense and Herb Jones is laughable.
11 pts / 3 reb in 30 min of play.
Brother there's a lot of folks in the draft who could average 11/3. Including a guy on our bench named Jordan Hawkins

But can they do it while defending every other teams's #1 wing? Herb is averaging 11 points as a fourth, possibly 5th option most nights.
And where exactly has that taken us in the big picture?
This is a offense league. You need bucket getters. You need folks to put the ball in the hole.
We didnt score over 100 points in any game in the playoffs.

Simple answer, yes

Sarr will be good by the time Zion is leaving. And that assumes he’s ever good. No one trades a first team defensive player shooting over 40% from three that can handle the ball and on a great contract for a hope and prayer down the road. That’s not even touching on the fact that Bi for Murray and Hunter is a highly questionable deal.

That had nothing to do with Herb, and you know that.

quote:If that were Griffin's position, maybe he would agree with you. That is the attitude of someone who is saying that it did not work last year even though we won 49 games, so it is time to tear it down and start over. If so, it makes sense to trade players for lottery tickets. I do not think that it his thought process though, nor do I think it should be.
And where exactly has that taken us in the big picture?

quote:Thunder only did twice and averaged over 15 points less a game than in the regular season. Herb affects that side more than the offensive side. Anyone who watched knows that the play of CJ and BI probably had more to do with the lower scoring, as well as good defense by OKC.

we won 49 games
Momma there goes that trope again. Typical Pels Talk. Still stuck on 49 games won, still stuck on #1 in the West for two weeks in December.
That means NOTHING in the grand picture. Everyone in the west outside of the Spurs were good this year.

That’s my bad, for some reason I swore the original post that was being replied to said there’s plenty of those guys in the league.

Lou Dort didnt even make a All Defense team
All that Defense doesnt mean shite in the playoffs.

Instead of taking one very small part out of a post, maybe read the entire context which discusses whether Griffin would think that.

Honestly, I would be surprised if Griffin trades Herb with BI, It would have to be a star type player like a Booker or Mitchell (with an extension)/Allen combo I think for him even to consider it. I don't think he does it for something like Murray and the #1 this year.

Ahhhh when you cant properly come up with a argument you always defer to saying something dumb about the messenger
Glad to see I dont have to respond to you anymore

If we're saying Murray and Ingram are similar b tier stars, we can all admit that trade is a wash.
Ask yourself in this draft full of unknowns, is there a singular player who can potentially improve this team over 3 years more than herb Jones can.
Are there prospects that have potential, sure.
Are there prospects that have equal bust potential, absolutely.

This is literally every single draft…

I've never really had a problem with MM. Agree with him maybe 80/90% of the time. Only disagreed with him when he was wrong.
Just gotta be able to ignore him & not take it personally, when he goes off on one of his...well...whatever you wanna call it.

And this is a draft where bust potential is higher, that's not a risk you take this year of all years. Not when you're trying to improve upon last year.
