You know I was just thinking and why would salary have to be included? The whole point was CHI had the cap room with the salaries they sent. Nothing had to change on that end.
We would have gotten the trade exception regardless. The issue was that we got no picks of note.

Are you forgetting that Chicago had the ability to clear the cap space if they truly wanted to?
And nobody else was giving him a higher offer, and we sure as hell wasn’t going to meet his asking price. I really do not know why y’all are still harping on this though when the Ball trade was pretty much the reason we got CJ and Nance

And remember it likely had to be done day 1 of free agency. I'm not sure Lonzo was going to wait around to see if maybe Chicago could make room for him. I'm also not sure they could have.

Well I was on record saying I would have drafted Garland at 4 and was totally against the Adams trade. Also said I would have traded up to get Haliburton while it’s been reported Griff woukd have traded him if he slipped to us.
With Garland on board, no need to even make the CJ trade. So….

I'm sure you know every piece of information that Griff knew when making these decisions too, huh? It's so arrogant to think that you can do a better job than someone else when you're working with probably less than half of the information that the other person is working with.

Only two pieces of note we can get on the margins from Brooklyn are Seth Curry and Cam Thomas.
