Are we sure this even happened?

At this point we need to either bring Hart back, trade him for a back up 4, or hope that Trey can play the 4.

It's really weird how quickly Hart fell from grace among Pelicans fans. I don't know how much of the behind-the-scenes stuff is true, but something has to be going on for him to still be unsigned.

I think part of it is that we can get like 75% of his production for a fraction of his expected price (in Marshall), not to mention we have a few other young wings on cheap deals that we want to develop (Trey, Didi, maybe Jones). Don't get me wrong, I really like Hart and the effort that he puts forth, but I don't know that it's worth ~10 mil per season on a multi year deal.

I think its also a bit of a recency thing being that Hart missed the last 24 games of the season. A lot of fans have sorta mentally moved on from him. I don't think that would be the case had he played the whole season.

We also don’t know what the frick is going on with Hart and FA. They might be negotiating a three year contract, a prove it deal, a S&T, or yeah, maybe he’s throwing a hissy, but there is zero evidence of that. The guy ha seven a model citizen, like BI. It blows my mind how many people want to trash the few players that actually have voiced happiness being in New Orleans

Him removing New Orleans off his twitter profile is what set fans off. Even though he tweeted not long after that something to the effect of "people read too much into the little things." Its impossible to say if he wants to stay or leave. Its impossible to know what is going on with contract/trade negotiations but fans seem to think they know both.

Im fine with him staying or going. If he's all in then lets keep him, because it seems that its probably going to be at a cheaper price than what most projected (4 year @ 10-12 mil each). If you can get him under 10 mil per then you are getting a good deal. If you can get him in a trade with Buddy, then I'm happy with that too.

Looking at the roster right now, I think his role is diminished from last year. I just hope it doesn't turn into a situation similar ish to Bledsoe where every game we're screaming "why tf is Hart in over Naji/Didi/Murphy?" If he doesn't improve on his shooting I could very easily see that being the case.

I like Hart, but i'd rather Naji/Murphy get minutes, and I'd rather have someone else on the roster that is an elite shooter, like Buddy.

Temple can replace the hustle and defense that Hart gave.
Temple also had a good bit better on/off rating effect on his team both offensively and defensively than Hart did for us this past year.

With Graham/Kira, NAW/Buddy/Temple, BI/Naji/Murphy, we'll be just fine, and i like that better than replacing BUddy with Hart.
And i also do'nt want to send out Gabriel if we do this trade. It shouldn't be necessary if we are sending out Hart and Sato to make this work. We could keep Gabriel and put Herb on the roster instead of a two way. I'd really like to see if he can improve his defense, slow the game down a bit, and be a competent backup big that can knock down open 3's.

His twitter profile still says New Orleans Pelicans #3, he just changed his instagram profile.

Maybe he's just giving #3 to Trey. Number fits him better than anyone else

I think they probably aren’t too high on Gabriel if the rumors of us wanted Markkanen are true. It seems like we are actively looking for a big that can stretch and shoot. I’m not sure Wenyen is the guy for that if he hasn’t shown it yet.

MM is throwing around 'insider' info saying that "He wants Sacramento. Still close with Gentry and Luke. Was leaking our family business to them all year. Part of the reason he fell out of favor"

Ahaha I remember those rumors. It was never confirmed that it was Hart. Could be Redick for all we know since he was malcontent and wanted out.

Dude is guessing here.

I"m not high on him either, and i would have liked to have brought in a legit stretch 4, but at this point, we don't have a backup 4, so we kind of need him on the roster, even though i nor anyone else thinks he's capable of being a backup 4. I'm just hoping.

I wonder what offers the Bulls are getting from other teams interested in Markky. I certainly don’t want to give up a first, and we can’t send one anyway until 2024.

Why does Gabriel really matter? He has not shown anything that makes me have a strong opinion.

He knows people around the league. Just because he hears something doesn't mean its going to happen. NBA roster management is a fluid game that changes minute to minute. Woj is always right because he reports the news, Mac reports possibilities. There’s a reason he is one of the 400 people ESPN follows.

Hayes should get more minutes at the 4 than Gabriel.

They certainly don't seem to be getting any firsts in those offers. At this point, Griffin needs to stick with "Best I can do is your own 2nd back."

I've seen nothing from Wenyen to make me think he is an NBA player.
