The absolute worst part of all of this...

To me, it's teams like Dallas, OKC, Houston. All became rebuilding teams after us, yet all 3 are way way way better than us. 2 years ago, OKC was the 10th seed, Dallas 11th, and Houston was 14th. The next mother fricking year, OKC is the 1 seed, Dallas made the NBA Finals, and Houston became a .500 team. This year, all 3 teams look great and legit, while the Pelicans, every single year, stay the same at 8-9, never get any better, and this year, they look like the worst team in the league.
This franchise is mother fricking cursed. What did we do to deserve this garbage?

Poor leadership. Griffin did not embrace a rebuild and kept wasting assets on players that did not fit at all.

Its simple.
They did what was necessary in the moment.
We still had posters on this board saying run it back as late as this past offseason. We absolutely deserve what we are getting at this moment.

Griff stupidly tried to compete in Zion's first year.
We should have traded Jrue right after AD and embraced a rebuild.
Instead he straddled the fence between trying to develop young guys and trying to win

Cursed, yes.
It’s really hard to place blame when your big FA acquisition has played one game, and 5 of your top 7 players have missed or will miss significant time due to injury.
What other teams have this level of a MASH unit right now?
Hawkins out
Zion out
Murray out
Herb out
CJ out
Murphy back 1 game
I have enjoyed watching some of the journeymen play these last few games but it otherwise sucks right now as a Pels fan.

The overall IQ on this board is insanely low

Dallas, OKC
Man would it be nice to have a young legit superstar who is interested in playing and winning as these teams do.

Dallas and OKC have young stars who want to play, get better, and win, and who put the work in to make that happen.
At the end of the day, the front office has failed, but Zion has also failed. Just a few years ago he was being talked about the same way Luka and SGA were, can you imagine trying to compare them now?

It’s not cursed. Griff has screwed up the rebuild from the very start. I’ve pointed out many of his mistakes as he made them over the years.
The Adams trade was a disaster, passing on Garland for Hayes, not trading Ball for Lauri M, not going all in to get Spyder Mitchell when the Jazz traded him. (Went for way below market for a superstar at the time)
I pointed out each one of these potential moves at the time.
Even the Cavs had way way less assets at the start of their rebuild and are further along than us.
That being said, no team is going to win with the injuries we’ve had. It’s just not going to happen.

We deserved to have Zion, CJ, Trey, Herb, DJ, Hawkins all hurt this early in the season?

This is some captain hindsight shite.
We didn't run shite back. We traded for a 3rd star player. Now that the roster is decimated with injuries the i told you so crowd is circle jerking.
The only I told you so type shite we all have to accept is about Zion.
Ingram is playing great ball and taking more 3s. Which is all we asked of him.

Yes! You can legitimately disagree with some of the past moves/non-moves, but Griff did anything but stand pat as evidenced by the Murray signing. Unfortunately, we bet on Zion and it's come up snake eyes.

Hell, I said that before the playoffs even tipped last season.

Wow you’re a genius, if we had just convinced Donavan Mitchell to come here and swapped Lonzo for Lauri M straight up we would be awesome!
I love how some of y’all think it’s a video game and we can just acquire whoever we want

Lauri’s value around that time was actually pretty low. If I’m not mistaken there was a legit possibility we could have gotten him for Lonzo.
