Chet is basically the perfect fit next to Zion.

And the comparisons between the two would be great comedy.

Why isn’t Tshiebwe higher on lists? Accept he isn’t lottery but seems to be can’t miss D and rebounding and worth a mid round pick.

Their shitty guards not attempting to throw it into Tshiebwe in the last possession of regulation blew the game.

I saw someone do an analysis on Holmgren and it wasn't flattering. His biomechancs are alarming and he is a bit of a hunchback. There are major doubts about how he physically develops and if he can fill out. I wouldn't take the risk..

I would agree. No he isn't someone that should go top 10, but for a playoff team, why wouldn't you take him. a team like the Celtics would definitely improve by having him.

and i think Jaylin Williams from Arkansas, who you don't even see on any mock drafts, even the 2nd round, can turn into a similar player as Grant Williams. It'll take a little time, but i see a lot of similarities, especially if he can be a consistent shooter from the outside b/c his defensive instincts are great. He probably needs one more year in college to improve his shooting, and he could be a late 1st. Even just improving the free throw shooting would be a great sign for him and his potential shooting.

I mean do you really think he’s better than Robert Williams? I wouldn’t go that far, he’s a big, athletic guy that dominates college but does lack skill

However it is extremely hypocritical that Duren is possibly like a top 5-6 pick while Tshiebwe isn’t near that area. They really aren’t much different. Tshiebwe is probably a higher IQ player at this point

Still do not understand the love you all have for him. Chet is a 20 yr old freshman that struggles against ranked teams. He will be no more than a solid starter in the NBA.

Duren doesn’t even turn 19 until November.

Griffin did an interview after the CJ trade and said he thought a lot more teams would start looking more seriously at the Herb/Jose types.

We'll find out whether or not thats the case for the rest of the league, but Griff made it pretty clear thats where the Pelicans will be looking.

Guys like Tshiebwe, Alondes Williams(ACC POY), Christian Koloko(PAC12 DPOY). I really like David Roddy, undersized SF/PF. Go through the list of upperclassmen with conference awards, and I bet at least one of our 2nd round picks are used there.

If we go young I really like Gabriele Procida. Seems to have good size and athleticism, and looks like a knockdown 3 point shooter.

I'd also take a chance on Patrick Baldwin. One of the top recruits in his class, but signed with a JV squad because his dad coaches there. He might fall to the 2nd round, i'd happily bring him in.

Johnny Juzang who we talked about earlier could be on that list too.

Jordan Hall is an interesting guy if we go a little younger too. Good shooter that's 6-7 that has great passing for his size.

Mathurin not having the greatest shooting performance tonight but has showed off his athleticism and clutch shooting tonight

Well he started clutching up after I posted this and shot 42% from the field.

Also Jabari had a terrible day shooting 3/16 from the field and 1/8 from 3. I like him a lot but this is why he isn’t a consensus #1 pick. Heavily reliant on his 3 pt shot and doesn’t adjust his game when his shots aren’t falling. He was just shooting contested deep jumpers all night.

I would like to amend my Mathurin take from earlier in this thread. After watching that TCU game and the Pac12 final against UCLA, I am all the way in. That guy is a fricking beast.

Yeah i like what i see from Mathurin too. If we were picking at 10 and he was there that would be an easy decision for me. Same for Johnny Davis, who i'd pick ahead of Mathurin if given the choice.

also, if i'm picking first, i'm taking Jaden Ivey no question. People are so enamored with Chet/Jabari/Paulo b/c they are tall. They'll take longer to develop, and are probably more likely to be hurt more, especially skinny arse Chet. Jaden Ivey has Donavan Mitchell type potential.

If we get the pick and he’s there I don’t see how we wouldn’t pick him. A second unit SG is clearly our biggest need right now imo.
