So the Rockets are going to head into the playoffs playing PJ Tucker as their center?

The Spurs are working with DeMarre Carroll’s agent Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports & Entertainment to find a new home for the forward

Carroll signed a three-year deal for 20.65M, 15M guaranteed, last summer with the Spurs. He was part of the three-way sign-and-trade that sent Bertans to Washington (and kept the Spurs' mid-level open for Marcus Morris...)

so they lost bertans, took on carroll who doesn't play and wanst out, and didnt get morris...

Ok, so Knicks aren't serious

Another tweet said Warriors asked for Robinson and a 1st also

So maybe they not too far off

I wouldn't mind Carroll as a backup 3/4.

Feel like Kenrich, Okafor, Frank, Miller, and Moore are the only pieces that'll possibly get dealt or let go in some capacity

Hard pass.

Supposedly the Wolves are offering Wiggins. Gonna take more than that though.

I think this would be the type of move the Lakers need to put them over the top and win a championship

Green for Randle straight up

here's a good point about the celtics that will become relevant to the pelicans as soon as next year

quote:

If Boston thinks they are close to contending, it's worth it to cash in some of the chips now. They can't keep everyone and use all the draft picks anyway. If you can upgrade Kanter to Capela while keeping the other top-6 guys and not hurting the rest of the rotation, why not?

multiple future picks are nice, but at some point the roster dictates that you cannot use them in the draft. all those seconds can be used as sweetner, or as the third team in a three-way

Injured back worries me but he fits the timeline and would bring great defense.

They need someone right now who’s not injured. Maybe we could exchange him for Moore who might help their playoff run.

I could see Jrue + Moore for Herro + Winslow + Waiters (then buy him out immediately). I think this would help Miami out this year and would be a good long term investment for us with possibly two good young players who would fit around Zion. If we have to throw in a couple seconds or even a first I could be talked into it. It’s a really weak draft this year. We need players like Winslow who is 23 and has some playoff experience, not more rookies.

I wouldn’t have a problem throwing in Frank or Okafor either if they had a use for one.

If Miami wanted a bench player who could help them down the stretch and want to unload Winslow's contract, a Moore and 2 2nds for Winslow could be a nice get. However, not sure they would be willing to dump him for that.

I think that would work as maybe a smaller scale more realistic trade. I have so little faith in this draft I would probably be okay with Moore + our first this year (maybe top 8 protected). I’ve watched Winslow in the playoffs enough to know he’s kind of like a Hart type player and would fit well with Zion I think.

fisher with a good point about miller. he has to be traded now
quote:

Changes to the most recent NBA CBA mean the Pelicans have to trade Darius Miller by the deadline to take advantage of the unguaranteed year.

Miller's contract as a trade able asset counts for $0 after the deadline thanks to the Brenden Haywood rule.

They could just guarantee the 2nd year if they want to roll it forward.

Talk about a garbage offer. Thank god Griffin hung up the phone on the Knicks when they called for AD.

Might as well use his contract for something. The only reason he got such a ridiculous contract was to use him in a trade at the deadline. Maybe we can turn his contract into a larger contract with another year on it (to use next year at the deadline) or more likely to help with salary as a 3rd team in a deal (and get a 2nd or 2 for our troubles).

He's already been overpaid for this year, no reason to keep overpaying him next year too. His benefit to another team in a deal is his non-guaranteed year, not his play.
