Reporting with @RamonaShelburne on ESPN: The NBA has opened up investigations into possible tampering violations involving two sign-and-trade deals completed in free agency: New Orleans and Chicago centered on Lonzo Ball, and Toronto and Miami centered on Kyle Lowry. Story soon.

Who’s in trouble? Us or them?

Both. For a deal to come together that fast, they had to have discussed it before the opening.

Of course it did, just like the other 20-25 that were announced within the first hour or so. Just like all of the negotiations that Woj and Shams tweeted out for the week before the "deadline."

Yup, but they're seriously not going to investigate those other teams, I mean, that's LA and NY involved

So like we have to take him back or nah? Lonzo found out that the Bulls still plan on using him like a wing?!

shite, I’m cool if we’re forced to keep him (not happening) he just need to know that King Von(te’) not taking a backseat to a Ball brother ever again.

All jokes I like Zo, his agent taking a hit for this. I can’t see the Pelicans taking any hits. Maybe the league forces the Bulls to send us a future 1st.

Heck, in a way we are the aggrieved party. I'd say as punishment for Chicago have them throw a 1st rounder our way. Or maybe our pick of players on their roster. That should serve the purpose of the antitampering rules.

The Ringer is working on a pod explaining how this is all on the Pelicans. Even the Miami/Toronto part.

Wow. Three tampering threads all with a 1:09 p.m. time stamp. This one seems to have more responses and perhaps a tad bit better discussion. I wonder if there is a way to fold those other two into this one, spruce up the subject line a bit on it and consolidate them?

Last season the Kings didn’t lose anything with the Bodgan deal, the Bucks lost a second rounder. The Bucks didn’t end up with Bogdan though, I wonder what will happen to the Bulls.

If Griff was cheating, he’s not very good at that either.

This is hilarious. The Lakers and nets can recruit players off other teams during the season but everyone else has to wait until after the buzzer in free agency to recruit? Makes this shite hard to watch.

Doesn’t every team do this every year? And the league always just lets it happen? So it’s kind of bullshite for the league to just randomly enforce it this year with no warning.

Now, if they sent out a warning to teams before free agency, then that changes things.
