I'll say this about Ayton, he showed in his series with us that he can be more than what he has been so far with the Suns.

The guy has more tricks in his bag than he is allowed to use and he could definitely take and hit more threes a game. That's on top of being the rare big that can bang with the biggest bigs and switch onto the perimeter without being exposed.

The biggest issue with him is his work habits.

He's known to get lazy and do things like stay up gaming til 2am on game nights.

BUT he has shown maturity and growth. And as long as he remains in a positive, competitive situation I think he is going to continue to improve.

I do think he has more in his bag than they let him show, but after watching them play Dallas, I came to the realization that what they did vs us was much more about how awful our defense was than who they are as players.

CP3 had the two best 4th quarters of his life and a perfect game vs us. Ayton simply couldn't miss a shot. They played Dallas, a good defense, and looked terrible.

Our scheme for guarding the CP/Ayton pnr was just flat out awful. Paul got the same spots over and over and over and when he didn't, Ayton was got to his spots instead. They got none of that vs Dallas.

The most damning part about our defense is that there was no drop off for them when Javale came in vs us. Javale didn't get off the bench in the next round.

As did Joe Harris, and Buddy got more. You could lump Lonzo in there as well.

How’s that working out for those teams?

So you give examples of similar shooters getting that money, yet all are looked at as overpaid, so let’s just give the next guy similar money for a similar skill set?
Your argument wasn't that he won't be worth it, it was that he won't get that amount.

Those are good examples to show that he'll probably be hear that $20mil mark unless you randomly think it stops with Cam Johnson.

Is it though? they could easily just let Saric go and that would make up the difference pretty much. And Cam isn't getting $20M+.

It’s easier to replace Cam than Ayton. We just drafted a similar player to Cam last year in the mid lottery. And yes he will get more than Robinson 18+. Suns know it’s easier to replace him than pay that out. They are being smart. Bridges is untouchable Id guess.

I think Ayton is definitely solid and technically would be an upgrade over J Val from several standpoints.

However, ESPN did do a full length editorial/feature on him during the Dallas series where he basically admits he never sleeps and he games 10 plus hours a day.

I’m not sure if he can break that habit or not. Lol.

There's only 3 true centers who are worth "max money"

Embiid
Jokic
Gobert

and Gobert is honestly pushing it.

Ayton isn't anywhere near the scorer as embiid, facilitator of jokic, or defender of gobert. He is literally Bam Adebayo...a soon to be overpaid center who has limitations and can be schemed out of games.

Daryl going hard to being both tucker and Gordon to PHI for one more go at a “run it back”. Supposedly going to be Offering Tucker 3 yrs / 30 mil

Good way to tank any chance of competing for a title for the next 5 years.

Philly needs a hard reset. That team isn't winning shite and adding to geriatrics isn't changing anything.

Old guys is what wins in the playoffs. look at this year. BOS had the better team but were younger. GSW had the experience and it won out.
