JA would 100% go before Sexton, and RJ would 100% go before Knox.

Lakers are getting to that extreme desperation zone if they aren't already maxed out in that department
If they don't swing for a big trade or land a top FA, things will get even uglier

Would love to acquire the 6th pick to get Coby White
He's the most slept on in the top ten who will prove to be better than some picked before him
Coby and Zion in transition would be electric. Hope we get em

completely disagree but there’s no way to prove that so it’s moot.
morant has real deficiencies that may ground him in the NBA...he’s just better than most in THIS draft. Players like shamet, SGA and bridges, etc who went mid round last year are building blocks going forward. I don’t see that at all in this draft

I’d rank the last 2 classes like this
Zion
Luka
Ja
SGA
Trae
JJJ
Bagley
Barrett
Ayton
Sexton
This is just how I view them as prospects. Trae was obviously better than SGA, but I value the versatility and his defensive potential more.

Sexton went 8th last year and arguably was the worst defender in the nba for most of last season. Morant has more offensive talent and the IT factor and would easily go before Sexton in a combined draft. Ja would probably go before volume shooter Trae in a combined draft as well.
Nobody gave a flying F about Shal last year. Everyone wants to act like he’s some juggernaut that should be valued evenly or even above Ja and/or RJ just because he had a decent nba season. And decent is being kind, his advanced numbers were absolute arse.
This 2019 draft is going to turn out much better than people think. People act like 18-22 year olds are finished prospects that will never improve even though now they will be playing and training for nba basketball 24-7 with better coaches, trainers, and nutritionists around them than they’ve ever had in their lives. Let’s not talk ourselves into passing on much more talented prospects than Shal simply bc Shal showed he is merely decent in one NBA season surrounded by elite coaching and veterans to ease the load.

And I will eat popcorn and enjoy every fricking second of it.
They have been openly tampering with other teams’ stars for years then lowballing them on trades under the argument that they will just sign them anyway.
Watching them either strike out completely or blow their wad on third tier or fourth tier talent would be fun to watch.

Too many rookies on one team.. I would say 1 more highly drafted rookie at most.. With Zion needing to develop, you dont want the other guys to feel like they have no chance because of our "prized" guy..
All the picks from Boston wouldnt be a bad thing, because we can pick high potential guys (think Bol Bol), or guys with an injury that need time to heal (Porter), and others that you feel may develop into something, especially starting a g-league team

Is Sekou Doumbouya expected to come over from Europe if drafted this year?

I'd be fine with three 1st-round picks this year, but no more than that. But if we acquire more than that, we can always flip them into picks next year.

How were his advanced numbers arse?
Posted on 6/2/19 at 5:28 pm to teke184
Yes he is.. Now if we do get a pick in the 6-10 range, he is someone I would like to pick up.. It will take a couple years, but he will develop into a PG13 lite IMO

Lol. Not at all. Trae is a smurfy volume shooter that got figured out 2 months into his college season. Nobody was excited about him heading into the draft. People openly mocked the Hawks for picking him at 5.
Trae is a decent shooter and has good court vision.
Ja is a great shooter, with elite court vision, and elite athleticism.
Ja would’ve gone number 1 or 2 in a lot of drafts over the past few seasons.

13.4 PER
O Rating 108
D Rating 112
.074 W/S per 48
-0.6 OBPM
.0.2 DBPM
-0.3 BPM
Keep in mind this is for a 48-34 team so that speaks volumes when a lot of these metrics are still below average.
To be clear, I like Shal fine, but don’t think he should be valued over Ja, RJ, or even Cobi White/Garland due to his unexpectedly decent rookie season. It’s not like he did anything that special to make you say F it let’s trade for a guy with 1 less year of a cost control contract because we know for a fact that he’s almost an average NBA player and we don’t know how these higher rated prospects are going to develop and pan out.
No, you take the most talented guy and you coach and develop him. You don’t take the other guy just because he wasn’t the disaster everyone expected him to be in his rookie year.

Funny people believe Lonzo could fetch #6 no problem but I propose Jrue to NY for #3 in other threads and get told that’s unrealistic smh.....

Players don’t live in a vacuum, their contracts matter. And, in this draft in particular 6 is worth a lot less than 3.

Everyone else on here has said Jrue has outplayed his current contract. If NY signs KD and another max fa, they will have to trade for the third star. Only ones I’ve heard that maybe available, Beal, Jrue, Conley, Derozen. Jrue is the best value contract of those 4.
And I disagree, the top 2 picks have the highest value this year. I’ve seen some reports with Culver or Garland going #3. And those same players going #6.
