Fletcher would get his wish if we trade with Miami. No way we can get anything that doesn’t include Dragic or Meyers Leonard.

Teams to watch out for: Heat (well documented), Nets, Celtics, GSW, & Blazers
Wildcard: Nuggets

Of these, I would love to pluck LeVert from the Nets, Simons from the Blazers, and Porter or Vanderbilt from Denver. Denver just said Porter is untouchable, but maybe that changes for a player like Jrue. Nothing Boston has interests me since they probably won't include Brown or Tatum and Grant Williams is good but redundant.

I think Orlando could be an interesting destination. They desperately need a player like Jrue and they really need to clear Gordon out to unleash Isaac. We would need a third team involved because Gordon/Zion is less than an ideal fit.

How has he done in that role?
Terribly. But when Griffin declares to the fans this is Jrue's team, it would not go over well to trade him a few months later. Unless someone throws us a stupid offer, I do not see him getting moved.

For discussion purposes, here's what Mac said a "blow me away" type trade for Jrue would look like:

And what would overpaid look like? Boston giving me Jaylen Brown and either Smart or that Memphis pick would be an overpayment. The Heat giving me Herro, Winslow and Dragic plus multiple future swap rights would be an overpayment. Phoenix giving me Tyler Johnson, Bridges, Cam Johnson, and multiple future 1st round picks would be overpayment.

I could go for any of those (assuming Phoenix offering 2-3 1st rounders and Miami a combination of 2 swaps and their 2025 1st rounder).

If this is true, he'll go somewhere and tear it up, I'm sure.

I'd entertain a package starting with Winslow and Herro.

Those overpayments seem pretty damn steep.

The longer they hold on to him, the less teams will offer as the playoff picture gets clearer and clearer going into February. Most contending teams won’t have the assets the Pelicans will require. We’re pretty much need to deal him to a pretender before things fall apart or those teams starts to overvalue their assets due to their success.

Griffin made the mistake this offseason of thinking that Jrue could step up and exercise leadership. Instead, that's what Redick is having to do by default, because Jrue isn't doing it at all. That's why Jrue is available and JJ isn't.

This Stein tweet today is essentially Griffin blaming Jrue for much of our struggles. He's basically saying something to Jrue like: "You didn't teach Lonzo how to play next to you. When people didn't rotate on defense or were slow to get back after a turnover, you didn't hold them accountable. You haven't done your job as team leader, and that's the only reason that you were here."

That’s Stein. It’s not an assumption. If he reports something about the Pels, it comes straight from the FO. Local guys will confirm shortly.

That was then, this is now. Stein had a lot of connections with Dell's front office. Are we sure that's still the case with all new guys in charge?

Well, the fans have been pretty displeased with "Jrue's team," sooooooooo....

McNamara is a moron. You're running the risk of choking on a hunk of salt putting value into his takes.

I think it is just his opinion. It appears he no longer has any inside connections.

I’d rather we keep Jrue, and move away from him being a leader and keep him as a role player.
Just stop relying on him, especially at the end of games. He’s a terrible decision maker and the opposite of clutch more often than not.

Move Lonzo. Jrues defense is elite enough to win games for us.

If we make a trade, I hope it’s to Orlando. If we give up Jrue, I want Isaac. If Lonzo, then Gordon.

I do think Jrue would do wonders with Butler in Miami. I’d root for them.

Fred Van Vleet and Norman Powell for Jrue Holiday...

Toronto is desperate for that extra star right now......
